West Cork (an amazing area, historically and geographically)

The Déise (southern Tipperary and Waterford)

    and Achill Island!

Connemara is also my favourite spot. The view of the Twelve Bens from Roundstone harbour on a good day is breathtaking. My sister is named after the village of Leenane. :-)

Some other great spots: Dingle peninsula, Kerry, West Cork - Sherkin and Clear Islands, Aran Islands, Achill Island, the River Shannon and Donegal. Antrim Coast and Giants Causeway are also beautiful.

My favorite entrance to any village in Ireland.

My brother got married at the Celtic Ross Hotel there over Christmas.
    It's a lovely spot!
But man the wind there is brutal, I thought the windows were coming in on my at one stage.
BTW we took a New Years day dip in a tiny village harbour a few miles away (can't remember the name, I think a trawler was lost there fairly recently though, god save them..)

No place I'd rather be than out West, head to west Clare a couple of times a year and I love it. Even though I'm from the midlands there is something about standing there looking out across the Atlantic that makes it feel like home.
