What does registering product information mean

    When you install a game on the pc and it says registering product information what does it mean?
    Where is the product information going?
    I always just wondered about that.

    Into your computers registry. It is basically a database of your computers programs and other info.

    If you want to see it press start and type in regedit. Be sure not to change anything in here if you don't know what you are doing
