As the title says, it went off just after 1:30pm for me. Anybody else experiencing this?

Checked again at 2:30pm and it was back on air ... wonder was their some kind of works going on. A few other sites have been reportedly testing a second mux maybe it had something to do with that???

There's a reason they do transmitter work at this time of day . . .

I did a scan yesterday evening and still nothing on channel 53.

I have to say I'm using a powerful Triax 52 element aerial with masthead amp here in Moira where RTE reception on analogue is excellent and even with aerial split I'm picking up Saorview signal on 2 different TVs. I saw a slight improvement in signal strength yesterday but will check later today to see if it is permanent.

Analogue reception here is also excellent ,and every now and again the Saorview signal does appear, only to disappear a day or so later.

I haven't had Saorview reception here for quite some time now. When I do a scan it always stops on channel 53 for a minute or so, but no channels appear.

Hopefully, this'll be different after October 24th.

I have little doubt it will come in loud and clear. I have to admit barring the 4 channels that are on analogue I watch little else on offer except occasionally rolling news on RTE News channel and the odd programme on RTE1 timeshift channel. Sport in HD is excellent I have to say.

Would it possible your TV is trying to locked on to Trustmore as it is on the same frequency?
I am nearer to CC and there is no signal transmitting north from that showing on the digital signal meter. Maybe u turn the aerial west to Trustmore and try that.

Highly unlikely as Clermont Carn is vertically polarized and Truskmore horizontal.

I suppose it's possible my wideband aerial pointing toward Divis may be getting something from Truskmore (the arials are diplexed and Divis and Truskmore are both line of sight) but I very much doubt it as I can't receive anything analogue radio wise from there (Truskmore)

I done 2 houses near Hilltown, that is about 145km to Truskmore while CCis just 15km, both receiving good signal

Strange that no Saorview signal from CC where you are in Newry and its coming in loud and clear here in Moira.

10 miles east of Newry just on fringe of Mourne Mountains
part of mountain is blocking the signal path from CC but can get Truskmore

I assume you'll be OK when the Carlingford relay comes on air later in the year ?

It'll be interesting to see Truskmore's coverage when it increases power to 160kw on October 24th, though I very much doubt it'll reach as far as Belfast.

No, Carlingford relay is also going to be block to me as I am on the inland side of the mountain. only 2 transmitter is available to me are CH and Truskmore. but wait and see how CC will fair, Interesting time later this year

It hasn't worked for me for ages, but last night I had a solid signal and watched some House on 3e. Pity they haven't sorted their aspect ratio switching out yet though so it was 16:9 squashed to 4:3.

Clermont Carn's Band II radio services had 'brief interruptions' yesterday (see attached), obviously some work was going on.
