Im only mid-thirties yet cant remember the level of people having bleeding on the brain and being struck down at such a young age, never mind the cancer and depression and suicide about.

What has struck home to you recently that needs to be done before you expire?

Me?....See my father as we have been estranged for 16 years.

    1. Fix hole in bucket.

    2. Enjoy life, including avoiding pressuring myself into feeling like I have a list of things to do.

Nearly everything on my bucket list involves travelling. There's so many places in the world I want to see. I've been around Europe and America but I would love to go on safari in Africa, visit Thailand, china, Japan, Australia, new Zealand .... The list goes on and on! Don't know if it will ever happen, I'd need to win the lotto first.

I guess it takes a death in the family or a close friend before we catch ourselves on about what is important.

Sorry, have just been to a few funerals recently and hadnt experienced this before in my life.Ive been lucky with the funeral thing up until recently.

Probably not the best thread to raise the subject:o

    Not meaning to be morbid,really!!:)

You should start to make arrangements to do that when you get up in the morning.

Mine is to learn how to drive. The mere thought of getting behind a steering wheel frightens me but I'd still like to give it a try. OP as regards your dad do it soon. My dad died almost 5 years ago and I miss him so much. Mend your bridges asap.

I'm a keen mountaineer and would love to give Everest a crack one day. I'd like to think in about 10 years time I could be in a position to do so as I'm currently gaining experience with scaling higher and higher peaks.

Did you hear about yer wan there who climbed K-2 and became the first woman to scale the 14 highest peaks without oxygen assistance?

    She's better than you.:p

too able bodied to think of anything right now.

i agree- my dads a jerk- he belittles my weight- my life, my choices- but if he died i know id be a shell of a woman, id be in an awful state- not because he was a prick, but because he was my dad and he was 50% of what made me.

op if he died and you had not made up it would haunt you

Lol I know, I'm in awe of people who do high altitude without bottled oxygen, its something I could never do, your putting yourself in enough danger up there without compounded the peril.

    dads can be cnuts,eh?

YOURE father should not be putting you down like that.

I think we all learn from the mistakes of those before us.

Ps:just because he made you doesnt make him infallible nor does it make him incapable of saying sorry for those hurtful comments..Take care

16 years, and you can't go kiss the old fcuker????

On your head be it. When he's a pile of bones you'll never get an "I'm sorry" or an "I love you" out of him ever again.

First off I don't know your dad but belittling your weight is not on. As regards belittling your choices he maybe thought they weren't the right ones or not what he would do. Sit him down and say this to him. He has to know he's hurt your feelings and make it clear you'll not stand for it in the future.

there's prob a reason why this man hasn't bothered to contact you in 16 years. I haven't spoke to mine in about 15 years too. The way I see it, you're better off without, although "he made you" he chose not to contact you.
Go to Oz, or Hawaii instead! :) xx
