UPC DC621KU - DVR- Blocked?

    UPC recently replaced a faulty old NTL box in the folks house. The new box DC621KU works fine but if they want to record it requests a PIN.

    Is this a blocked feature that if I want to record I have to get a PIN from UPC and pay extra for the feature or is it just a default PIN like 123 or 000.

    Usually get a quicker and more honest naswer on here than waiting on hold for UPC :D

    Couldn't find anything on line about the issue.

    The Pace DC621KU isn't a DVR???????

    if it were, this shouldn't happen by default and I can't find such a setting in Preferences.

    But - are they trying to record films from Sky Movies during the day? You need a PIN to view certain films on Sky Movies during the day, depending on what the certificate of the film is.

    You can also set the STB to require a PIN for programmes on other channels depending on a particular certificate level - try Menu --> Settings --> PIN Settings --> Parental Control.

    The default PIN is 0000.
