I was on a cruise for five days in the Norwegian Fjiords a few years ago, and my head nearly exploded!

I get a bit overexcited too.:)

WOW!!! that would 100% tip me over the edge :D i wouldn't sleep for weeks if I was going on an actual crusie. You lucky thing!!!!

I couldn't believe I was allowed out on the deck as well. It was freezing but so invigorating. I was just buzzing around after dumping my bag with an old couple that assured me they wouldn't be going anywhere. :D

The worst/funny bit was when it was time to get off, I was still hyper and not listening to the voiceover and just followed the crowd to get off. After I had gone down about three levels I realised I was heading down to the cars and was not with the foot passengers :p

I tried to force my way back but the swarms of man United fans (half tanked) were staggeringf all over the stairs and going 'ha ha you went the wrong way :p' I was like 'no **** sherlock, now please move'. One guy obviously took pity and screamed up the stairwell: 'will everyone move to the side and let the lady back up'. :D

No end of shame but funny :p

I was the last foot passenger off, talk about savouring the experience :D

Not if it has 'Made In China' written on the side, and its for sale on Ebay.

Probably yes though, but then I'm the type who likes to tempt fate by walking under ladders and giving magpies the finger.

Sure the Chinese are deadly at building ships did you not see 2012?

The link to that BBC article says that the guy in question has said: 'thats its going to be designed so that it won't sink'.

    Tempting fate much there??

Careful though, the thoughtless tramp will let you sink in the icy water even though there's plenty of room on her plank... :D

yes. but only because it would be built to be bomb proof. it will probably be the safest ship there ever was. or at least thats how he hopes you would think. so no because its a double bluff, it will be made from rubbish and sink like a stone. con man

No it does not appeal to me one bit, guaranteed you would have all these titanic nerds going around comparing this new one to the old one. For me it would be like going to a star trek convention, torture, and also you would have a few apes doing "I'm the king of the world" hanging off the top of it.

What like " This Titantic is significantly better than the last one, in the fact we're not actually sinking yet."

Seriously, people would be worried there's a high danger risk because of the name?!

As long as its not called the Costa-Titanic I'd hop aboard.

I'm cool with the name, just don't register it in 2013!

It looks like we missed the boat on this one,
Ireland could have cashed in on this if someone had taken the inititiave.
Would have went well with the exhibit in Belfast.

You can like it or hate it,But it would have brought tourism.......

Will it be divided into 1st, 2nd and 3rd class like the original? If so I will have a stateroom in 1st class so I don't have to mingle with the riff-raff.

Only if there weren't enough lifeboats and it had the exact same technology and it sailed into an ice field.

    For that authentic feeling like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,903 ✭✭✭Napper Hawkins

Yeah but only if the cast of the film are on it too and I have a gun.

Yeah- if it was made of titanium....those pesky icebergs wouldn't stand a chance:D

    Yes.

Maritime safety has gone on leaps and bounds since 100 years ago. Also with global GPS and everything I'd always be confident if the ship did sink you would be saved.

I wouldn't be on the first voyage though. But that's just my superstition kicking in

say that to the victims of the costa concordia

    I wouldn't because I couldn't give a **** about sailing anywhere.
