I should have left out the specific age and just said "Anyone else freaking out about getting older?"

so as to avoid all the astronomically pointless "What are ye moaning about, you're younger than me!" replies.

I know quite a lot of people who were 27 before their first "serious relationship."

Yeah I dunno, I think it's pretty rare these days for somebody in their early 20s to had not had a relationship that lasted at least longer than a few months. Ah well, not the end of the world sure :)

God. Double your age & add 5 more years & you're my age.

Once you hit your late 20's the years start going by surprisingly fast.

    Oh, & I still think I'm 19 sometimes too.:D

Faster than they already go? Coz I was 17 only last week, and now I'm somehow 25

I'm only 2 years off my ideal age 40..............Cannot wait, always wanted to be 40. Mortgage almost paid, kids almost reared and some time to get back to the land of the living!!!:D

I turned 25 yesterday. I spent the weekend getting drunk (not a common thing for me, by by god it was worth it!), eating cake and getting shiny presents. Even though I'm getting some grey hairs, my eyesight is probably going to get worse so I won't be able to see them soon. Getting older has it's benefits.

I'll be well into my 50's getting to that stage.:D

How will life be different in late twenties compared to mid twenties?

Lots of sleepless nights bundled up into a ball and crying your eyes out.

    Nearly 26. Still think I'm 19.

    Anyone else hating it?

No "Ah stop moaning, jesus, I'm nearly 40/60/102... blah blah blah" responses required. Cheers.
So you wanted only mid twenties replies to agree with you saying how poxy it is?

Don't worry, I won't say the above, just that it's a pity your maturity doesn't match your age.

A bit early to have your midlife crisis, or is it.

    I had my mid-life crisis at 23.

And it gets worse OP. The older you get the faster the years seem to go by.

Just turned 24 a few weeks ago. Freaked out a little but then I figured- 6 years until a mid-life crisis!

Yes, the older I get the more I tend to freak out about it sometimes. I'd say if you did a poll about it and correlate it to gender, you'd find girls tend to freak about it about double or triple as much as guys IMHO.

I do think I am much happier in my late twenties and more self-assured now than I ever was in my early twenties, to be honest!
I never get people that say, oh I wish I was 21 again! I don't! I was an insecure, naive mess at that age! Know a lot more about the big bad world these days :D

So the short answer: yes, it freaks me out how short life seems sometimes BUT the thought of it doesn't keep me awake at night!

I'm 34 in three weeks but I'm not dreading it or freaked, because... what's there to dread or freak about? it won't affect my life whatsoever.
Not saying I like getting older or anything (although some stuff that goes with it is pretty cool - mainly being happier in yourself) but panicking... Why?

I can relate OP, just turned 25, doesn't seem like that long ago I was 18 and celebrating finishing my LC. :pac:

    Frada's only 24?
    Jeez...

I've my "one-third statistically speaking"-life crisis planned out. I'm going to buy a boat and live on it for a year. All I need now is to find a suitable lass, or two, who I might persuade to join me.

I'm one of those men who gets more and more attractive every year so bring it on :pac: same can't be said about the wimmin http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056623018 :(

I'm not worried about my late 20s and getting older at all I'm more worried that I'm not making the most of my youth.

I think one of the reasons behind this fear of getting older is some people have a vague idea in their sub conscious that life will get good some point in the future. Then as each year passes the realisation starts to set in that " this is it" as they never reach that point in the future that is so good.
