Anyone know the best place to pick up some inert sand for use in an aquarium?

Most pet shops if money isn't an issue. Another option is go into your local toy shop or garden center and pick up some kids play sand just make sure it is silica based. It's much cheaper for the amount you get and it looks really nice in a tank, it's great for holding down plants also. You will have to give it a good wash though or be prepared to wash your filter sponges two or three times a day until it settles
