Got permission on land recently where i was told kill as many ad i can as they are costing him large sums of money, I simply cannot eat all the rabbits I shoot. Case of 15 rabbits on a bad day :D Usually go there a few days a week, but have no one that will take the excess ones off my hands.

Anyone know a game dealer or butcher in Cork/Munster that is registered to deal with rabbits? Hate to see good food going to waste.

you can bring rabbits to your local game dealer establishment but you can just go into any butcher they have to have a licence to sell wild game meat which by the way is very easy to get if they inquire bout it but then you the hunter to have a certifacation to sell game meat to the butcher and such a course is called wild game meat handling very good course to have

Premier game near cahir used to take rabbit for 1.20-1.50ish a headshot i think.

If you dont want them going to waste you could also try fota-wildlife park.

Try your nearest greyhound stadium. The dog men are always looking for cheap meat to feed the dogs. You'd probably get €1.50 a rabbit if you had them skinned

no butcher can sell wild rabbits, anyone selling rabbits is either selling farmed rabbits, has a licence or is breaking the law.. there is a man that keeps abandoned dogs not too far from you, he would be glad to get them, give me a pm if you want

The Game Handling Course does not allow you sell or process any wild game. It just means you are a "trained person" to inspect for diseases like TB........

By 2014 if you want to sell wild game to a registered game handling establishment you will need this course until then the only benefit is you don't need to bring the head & pluck for inspection.

Is it the wild game meat handling course or the trained hunter course which qualifies you to sell to a butcher

Dunnes Stores in Limerick are selling farmed French rabbits some times at €14.99 a pop. The butchers are not that much cheaper from what I can see. Someone somewhere is getting a nice little markup
