Liverpool may have moved a step closer to signing Uruguayan star Gaston Ramirez after his agent revealed they have received a bid from an un-named Premier League team for the Bologna midfielder.Ramirez has been one of the star performers for his club side in Serie A and has been attracting interest from Kenny Dalglish.

The Liverpool manager is set to make a number of changes during the summer and has been strongly tipped to make a move for the 21-year-old.
According to Italian TV station TMW, Ramirez' agent Pablo Bentancur has confirmed that a Premier League club have made an offer for his client and a decision will be made at the end of the season. Bentancur said: "Bologna have received an offer near to 20 million Euros from an important club in the Premier League. "Bologna will decide at the end of the season what they are going to do."

I really like watching Bologna play. Lovely ground to watch a game in too, if anyone is over there, a relaxing spot :pac: . Ramirez and Marco Di Vaio would be a great combo in a side with a good defence and midfield. I can't believe Di Vaio is 35, he's still a super finisher.
Ramirez is not really a goalscorer though. In fact, i wonder would he be a worthwhile signing is we have Suarez...its a finisher we need. He has another 4 or 5 years left on his contract so he'd command a big fee.

Overall: good player, but i don't think he's what we should be looking for.

Watching Henderson I can't help but get the feeling that with a bit more confidence he'll be a very good player for us.

Similar to Lucas, although he had much better players to be compared against, I feel Henderson is a bit overawed by playing midfield for Liverpool.

He'll often pass when he should shoot and when he has time around the box I feel he nearly always looks for the safe option, afraid to shoot incase he gets a bollocking from Gerrard or something.
Needs to take a leaf out of Shelvey's book in that regard.

However, I do think it's something that will come in time and he's already improved on it to a degree in the last few weeks. I look forward to his development at Liverpool tbh.

This is the last thing we need at the moment

I am majorly apprehensive what it will be like since reading about it. Not sure if it's a good sign for Kenny that they're going to allow cameras film the end of the season or bad in that him possibly leaving with a new manager coming in would make great TV. Expected to be a similar type show that airs on HBO for America sports called 'Hard Knocks'. Anyone ever watch it? What's it like?

A good point. Without the "bully's" on the pitch Henderson seemed a bit more up for it and willing - made a good few forward runs, not just the one with the shot off the crossbar.
He also ****ed Suarez out of it when he beat 3 defenders and instead of passing sent his shot into orbit. Good to see he brought his testicles to the match for the change. Hopefully he'll start leaving them next to his keys so he remembers them in future.

Just having a look at the highlights of the EL 1st leg between Sporting and Bilbao, Insua has slimmed down big time.

At #Leveson Rupert Murdoch predicted an end to newspapers. Tired, out-of-date, and doomed to "shrivel and die" in a decade, Murdoch is 81.

    A bold prediction.

In other news, I am predicting that in 10 years time Murdock will be 91.

At the age of 23 Fernando Llorente scored only 12 goals in 40 matches. Look at him now! Andy Carroll is very similar to Llorente!

Big 'target men' forwards ted to blossom later. You've got Drogba, Giroud as well.

I'm pretty sure he pushed through the move to go home as he didn't like life in England.

Llorente, Wolfswinkel, Soldado all could be playing for LFC, but we have Andy Carroll.

Llorente always had a really good first touch and technique. Andy is a bit of a lump.

I actually think Andy has a decent touch. It's his movement, awareness and pace which let him down imo.

I wouldn't even say pace (although he's looked slower for us than he did at newcastle). He's certainly slow off the mark but can build up a fair head of steam.

His touch is really poor, far too often it will get away from him.

    That's really really important though.

His turn of pace, speed over the first few yards and lack of 'half a yard in his head' as they say are some of the main reasons that I don't think he'll ever make it at Liverpool. They're also big reasons why I don't think he links up very well with Suarez.

Sorry to be negative. I like posts like that one about Llorente, and it's true about Drogba also. It gives me hope. I desperately hope he can make it and I think I support him and want him to succeed more than almost anyone else, but I don't see top class potential in him.

You know what bothers me about all the talk of Downing Hoilett and Henderson Sigurdson?

They are too risky unless they can be got on the very cheap.

Hoillet will be on a free (plus compensation) and sigurdson is reportedly available for 10 mil.....not bad prices if we managed to get them both IMO

I think Hoillett is risky hence the low price tag. I don't think Sigurdson is at all, plays in a team with high possession stats, has a good brain and an eye for something out of the ordinary.

If the guy is free we will just stick him on a stupid wage and won't be able to get rid of him if we want to.

What are you basing this on may I ask? That we've been linked with them in the past?

Hoilett's a good player - can slot in up front or on the wing if needed so would be an addition to the squad imo

YES! but seriously I believe that if Liverpool had decided to get serious about signing any of them we wouldn't have Andy Carroll.
