Sandy Jardine: Rangers supporters will take sanctions against other clubs
The Rangers ambassador warned other clubs will feel pain if the Ibrox club suffers severe sanctions.

    http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/305041-sandy-jardine-rangers-supporters-will-take-sanctions-against-other-clubs/

    more threatening language

the sense of entitlement is crazy
“I’m still at the club, I worked under Craig Whyte and I have to say that nobody knew that he wasn’t paying bills. It was as big a shock to us as to everybody in Scottish football.

“The players did nothing wrong, the management of the club did nothing wrong, the supporters did nothing wrong and the staff did nothing wrong.

“The person that did something wrong was Craig Whyte and unfortunately he’s getting a penalty which he’s laughed off. They’ll never get the money but the people still at this club are going to have to pay a penalty because of that.

Jardine is an idiot, sticking your head in the sand about how Craig Whyte ran the club doesnt exempt the club from the rules of the game, nor its responsibility of anyone working on their behalf or proper corporate governance.

As for the punish us and everyone will suffer response, its getting tiresome now and it wont put anyone off punishing the club for 10+ years of mismanagement.

Its Craig Whytes fault though

Seriously not a good idea threatening clubs who may have a sympathetic ear to their plight.

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11788/7706963/Drysdale-in-McCoist-admission
SFA disciplinary panel member Eric Drysdale believes Rangers boss Ally McCoist did not help the situation after he demanded the names of the panel be made public.

McCoist and Rangers could be in trouble for this yet.

Jardine said that the club should be treated differently because of the club’s stature and said that the outcome had implications for other clubs, including direct action taken by Rangers supporters groups.

Can’t believe the bully/billy boys think its acceptable to go around threatening individuals, state bodies, sponsors etc etc, i had felt a tinge of regret that the ordinary Rangers (IA) fan is suffering but its the lunatic fringe that are getting all the publicity. It now looks like they will become the “NewCo Cosmos” with their trialists in Division 3. It might just be a good thing for scottish football in the long run, lessons learned, and a massive financial boost for division 3,2 &1, like 2 cup games for every club what a windfall if they spend it correctly , pay off debts, upgrade facilities, invest in football camps etc.. 50,000 raging gers fans with dignity and loyalty with a grudge against sfa et al, with them packing out every away ground and should they get promoted back to the spl they will have done the time for the crime. Meanwhile the spl will be getting more competitive, call me a cynic but PL will never get a better opportunity to downsize and sell players (lots of previous but hope im proved wrong) while at the same time 4/5 other teams have a chance to qualify for europa group stage. More of a level playing field for everyone looks like. Hope spl don’t shirk this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Ally McCoist's dangerous and cowardly conduct towards SFA

I’ve waited a day or two to write this. And I write on the train from Amsterdam to The Hague to witness the first ever head of state receiving sentence for war crimes.

    So everything’s relative. Even Rangers…

And from outwith Glasgow the perspective’s glaring.

Faced with a judicial process at the Scottish Football Association and a due appeal process (active now) to be heard before a retired judge or QC – faced with all that, what does the Rangers manager Ally McCoist do?

Bide his time? Seek appeal advice? Reserve comment on an obviously sub-judicial procedure?

No – he suddenly demands on Rangers TV on Tuesday that the Scottish Football Association panel which imposed a 12 month ban on the club buying players be identified in public.

As an act of such irresponsibility in the current climate beggars belief. Like so many in this drama Mr McCoist goes “public” in an environment where I doubt he’ll never be properly questioned.

Far from letting due process happen and preparing the case for appeal, Mr McCoist chooses a lynch mob approach potentially putting the safety of these people at risk.

It’s an action redolent of the lack of reality, prudence, judgement and moral decency which has characterised so much of a club that’s brought the game into deep disrepute. Moreover, some might observe that Mr McCoist’s inflammatory tantrum is in itself likely to bring the club and himself into disrepute.

Will Mr McCoist be equally “public” in facing up to the responsibility of what he’s done? Given the cowardice of his initial act, you have to say it’s doubtful.

Mr McCoist and Rangers need another reminder that even Glasgow football is now living in the 21st century. Rules get applied – even to Rangers. Outside Glasgow football where else would anyone in normal public life question the independence of the panel as he did – then call for them to he named for the mob? Yet the sheer and obvious outrage his actions should provoke raises little adverse comment in the city. No – so much attention remains focused on the astounding fact that a club that broke rules got punished. Doh!

Small wonder it leaves SFA chief executive saying the rules will be applied without fear or favour. But why should he have to? In any normal world this is a given and accepted. In Glasgow football the man imposing the rules has to say he’ll do his job as if it’s news.

Meanwhile, if I get time in the small matter of a war crimes court, I shall ask the SFA if they intend charging Ally McCoist with bringing the game into dispute for questioning the SFA’s motives, independence and arguably, putting the safety of its independent panel at risk.

Meanwhile… Charles Taylor… Sierra Leone… mass rape… child soldiers… death by machete… and a city and a court where yes, they apply the rules without fear or favour and they don’t feel the need to say so.

I'm sure we'll see Thomson's true colours on Sunday as he takes his seat in with the Celtic fans.

The BBC have scraped plans for Ally McCoist to return to Question of Sport after he demanded to know the identity of every Mystery Guest. :)

Can't they allow the club to go to division 3. Why do they want to keep Rangers in the SPL?

Seems like these plans are aiming to do that. For me I would rather the club go down to division 3. Much more fun and build the club back up again.

No they are not. Rangers are currently issuing their "if we go down, you'll all suffer" threats.

Seems like ye all are entering stage 3 of grief, anger and bargaining.

    Which is true.

The SPL will be utter dross without Rangers. Which is why I want the club out of it and in division 3.

Its not as simple as going to Div.3 and everything will be fine. You'll need to be liquidated to get away from the current & impending punishments. Rangers will be a footnote in Scottish Football history like Airdrieonians and Gretna.

What do Rangers fans believe would be a fair punishment?

Points deductions in the 3rd division of Scottish football.

What do Rangers fans believe would be a fair punishment?

    Honestly?

If we become a NewCo - relegate us to the 3rd Division.
None of this ****ing about with 3 years worth of decuctions simply aimed at the SPL having their cake and eating it.

The new proposals are aimed at crippling the club by taking away upwards of 30 points in the first season, and ten to fifteen points in the next two (Along with a 75%reduction in revenue for 3 years, and of course no europe) while still keeping the cash cow that is the Rangers support in the league in the hope that the Killies and DUFC's can get their payday.

As for the rest, it's hard to tell what the punishment even can be - let alone understand what is "fair".
A 12 month transfer ban for "Bringing the game into disrepute" is already unprecedented.
