Was full sure in my own head that those Alfa V6s were all chaindriven! Learn something everyday...

You mean you haven't heard Alfa Romeo and Timing Belt mentioned in the same post on this thread yet?

    :D
Ah yeah 4cyl = belt = 35k or 3years and don't be a cheapo and leave tensioners too long. Maybe there was a 3L in the 166 that was chain, otherwise I'm losing it altogether!

Afaik all Alfa V6 (Busso engine) over the past 40 or so years were belt driven :)

    a years test
    9 months tax
    asking €500

bulletproof motoring, advert has been bumped a few times too, it looks tidy so i do wonder why nobody is buying.

Because for the same money or less there are loads of newer, more modern, lower mileage, safer, nicer and altogether better cars for sale :)

It will sell though. Lots of old Toyota love in this country :D

    my bangernomics nemesis :p.

plenty of "luxuries" in that little starlet. the more modern 4E-FE engine, air con, electric windows, power steering. if your not a number plate snob, if you took it home for 400-450 sure how bad. the tax is worth that.

for pricking around town in obviously, wouldnt do motorway miles in it.

Ah, the GM engines were chain driven.

anyway, skipped over a few cheapo saabs to throw up a car that doesn't feature too often: Accord coupe, 650 yoyo, NCT and some tax

    Full-11222668.jpeg

Accord "feels" a bit off, but threw it up out of oddity value

    One for dgt maybe?
    Fiat Uno turbo
    on spanish plates tho...

Had the Rover 600 that was based on the Accord in the 1.8 and really liked it. If you could get a few quid off that mightn't be a bad buy but check if it needs a timing belt. Was quoted €550 for a timing belt and water pump for the Rover version.

Had a deposit on one of them years back, car sales place near Clover Hill prison, bastads claimed it was stolen a few days later before I was due to collect it

Who would want an Opel engine in their Alfa? :D

Indeed, I'll promise never to mention it again!
Very nearly bought a 2.2VTEC* Accord Coupe, the model after that one I think. But the seller was a messer.

Nobody! The 3.2 V6 in the Brera and 159 sucks!

There's no Padre Pio badge on the dash though, so it can't be a genuine Starlet. Probably hasn't even been driven by a nun. I reckon it's a cut and shut Micra.

Quite sure this car was owned up to very recently (maybe still) by Fordes Funeral Home in Cork. If so it is utterly immaculate.

Lots of tax (€600 worth), but i suspect it is taxed as a limo.

It'll need testing in a couple of months, but knock a few quids off and it could be worth a punt..
