cancelling a ryanair flight - any point??

I have some flights booked for later this month that I can't use now cos of family.......

Is there any point in cancelling them? could I get any money back?

You'll get the tax minus €30 (that's €30 each way) afaik.

They charge some sort of administration fee which defeats the purpose of the claim back on the taxes for the passenger.
Stupid from their own behalf as there could be empty seats left on flights that they could resell for higher prices than the original bookings.

Might depend on if its a flight they will definitely (or at least very likely sell the seat)?
Or if the seat was already highly priced,
Not sure about getting the tax back, depends on how much tax was paid for the flight?
I have never found it in the past viable to cancel (the tax back might be new though?)

This just says apply in writing, while the linked fees page indicates a €20 government tax refund fee via their call centre.
