Yup same happening here, also my views are pretty much nonexistent.

Quick question for people, ive probably been a bit too picky about contacting girls whos profiles just consist of that generic "love going out with the girls, if you wanna know more just ask" etc or even girls who seem interesting but just have very limited profiles. My question is what to ask? Hobbies, music? or what? im just unsure as to where to go with those.

In all the time I've been signed up to POF, only one, one person has sent me a message. That message was "hi" and nothing else. I sent a reply back but never heard from the person again.

Got a mail from a guy who's profile pic is a cocker spanial asking me for coffee.Looked at his profile, not filled in.Said, "Ah, I know nothing about you", response "Blue is my favourite colour". He's a keeper!

Ah, I would have had a bit of banter with that. :D

That awkward moment when your ex finds your profile and demands to know if you have had any success and swears at you when you tell him you'd rather not talk to him about dates....

These sites are great craic! :pac:

Any other dating sites out there that ye recommend?

I'm on OKC, POF and CS. All of which are pretty okay. CS would have the most sleazy people on it though, so I'm sure it'd be perfect for you. :D

I found the same. I get mostly 50 year old men hitting on me. One of them sent me his life story in a message. He's 56. His youngest daughter is older than me... And he wanted to take me for dinner.

I figured if me pretending to be gay didn't put him off, the incestuous connection from the father wanting me to me wanting the daughter might work.

Nope. According to his message, his wife left him 6 years ago and he was only moving on now and looking to fall in love with someone who 'deserved him' and he thought I might be that one. :pac:

Tell him you always wanted a sexy father figure in your life and if he wants to take you out to dinner he has to take you to MacDonalds and get you a happy meal.

See how long it takes him to feel uncomfortable.

Not sure how he would freak you out more than the rest of the nutters who are using online dating sites

If you string along someone it could turn out very badly if they are a bit nuts!

That's why I recommend people just block the oddjobs.
Nothing worse than being mentioned on the front page of the Evening herald.

Wish this dating thing was simple like on tv! Had a hairy experience a few weeks ago, met a guy that I thought I had everything in common with. When we went on on a date he showed his true colours and I wasn't happy with what I saw at all! I couldn't get out of the situation fast enough but didn't want to be a bitch! Now, weeks on, i'm like WHERE ARE THE NORMAL PEOPLE! Should I give someone online a go? I mean would ye guy recommend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,746 ✭✭✭✭Galvasean

Isn't it weird when you dated a girl, got on great, then after a while she started blanking you for no apparent reason and then they show up on POF again after a few weeks...
Feel like mailing, "So... backed a good horse yeah?"
    I'm awfully bitchy today
