The subject often crops up of just how dangerous can that little 40gr lump of lead be at longer ranges, particularly when assessing the need for a decent backstop when shooting over the countryside?

I'd remind you that this was an experiment carried out under controlled conditions, and that apart from the lack of any bone - is a pretty good simulation of the human body at mid-thigh, or between the belt and lower rib cage.
