Who exactly are you to talk,or to judge, then?

I'm not judging anybody. You're the one going around calling Terry fucking Wogan a traitor.
The guy's a national treasure. Leave him alone!

    International treasure!

    I'm not judging anybody.
And yet you take the liberty to call me a Sinn Féin supporter without even knowin me.
As well as claiming to do "f**k all" yourself??While having the bare-faced cheek to question others, and to say what does and doesn't count??

    You HYPOCRITE.
    How f*cking dare you.

I like Terry Wogan it's hard not to, he's a nice man, he's humble and inoffensive while also been interesting with a slightly amusing and joyful stint on the world and he truly has the gift of the gab.

I think his affection for Ireland and the UK are genuine, they are not put on for a buck, I think he is that sort of bloke who seeks as much positiveness as he can. By the way both these affections are compatible, I to like the UK.

I seen one ep of this and I thought it was pretty good as travel programmes goes, which is what it is.

Why are you so sensitive about this? People have been taking the piss out of us for generations & we've been taking the piss out of ourselves for longer.

Methinks that the problem lies more with you than with El Tel.

You can have a successful career without changing your nationality and your allegiances. Why was he given the freedom of the city of Limerick? What has he ever done for Limerick,or Ireland? He is known for being a TV and radio presenter-nothing else.Tis understandable why Geldof, another "Sir",was given the freedom of Dublin(although he still cribbed and whinged about it) for his efforts for Africa.Note how Bono refused the "Sir" title, the reason he gave was because he is Irish.

He was the only reason I watched the Eurovision, He is a legend and I don't think he has ever forgotten where he came from. One of the best presenters in the UK imo.

Can't stand the man! He has said in the past that Irish people who say their going home to Ireland when going back for a holiday(funeral, wedding etc.)are wrong - their not going home, their home is wherever they work and live! I live and work in Scotland but still call Ireland home - its where I was born and raised after all:p

He's a tame Irishman who loves everything English and will almost all of the time bring the Irish down(a bit like Boards ie really:rolleyes:).

Anyway, it's clear to me that you're also doing fuck all for Ireland except moan and complain about Terry Wogan. So who are you to judge him? Hippo-critt.

So what, but he reads from the autocue so well and some of that is ad lib. He agreed to do it and that in itself is a great comedic moment.

Oh, I agree he can be a witty man but come on he's no comedic genius:)

No he is not, he just keeps the conversation going better then most, he was on the BBC radio 1 breakfast programme for years which is primetime for radio. Now Britain has a very wide pool of talent, yet they kept him.

    He is very talented.

Someone who was once Irish himself, happy to amuse the British at our expense-that's my problem.
And I'd feel the same about anybody else-not just a celebrity like Wogan.I've explained meself enough.

I think it was at the BBC licence-payers' expense.

I hope that you don't carry your abrasive, insensible opinions of what constitutes a tame or distinctive Irishman with you abroad! You can't stand the man because he has a slightly different opinion to you on a rather insignificant matter? You sound lovely...

I'm sure Sir Terry Wogan has done far more to aid the image of Ireland abroad through his humour and intelligence than you ever have.

Moreover, what would be wrong with "loving everything English"? Sure I find this line (and post in general) hard to take seriously since you have decided to look to the UK for work and a place to live.

He did the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show for many years and is far better known for that (he may have done BBC Radio 1, I'm not sure) and continues to do a little bit of Radio 2 stuff. BBC Radio 2 actually has a far bigger audience in Britain than Radio 1 though.

I'm abrasive? Where did I say there was anything wrong with loving everything English? The difference is that I don't toady to anyone no matter where they come from but Mr Wogan comes across as a big fat warty toady(imo). Don't be so sure I haven't done anything to promote Irishness (North and South)wherever I go, in fact I go out of my way to clear up some misconceptions about Ulster(the British part) and its troubles! Jeesus why am I explaining myself to some individual who obviously see's himself as a web warrior and one who takes this place so seriously:) My saturday afternoon's sure have become sad! as for you not taking my post seriously - well you did reply to it:confused:
