Gorey is in Spain playing in the nations cup. Don't know what the story with Sean Barry is and your right about their 2nd and 4th place finish. It was a very good final round last year.

Gary O'Flaherty of Cork Golf Club won this years Lee Valley Senior Scratch Cup in blazing sunshine. His final round 70 gave him a total of 219 and a single shot victory over Paul Kane of Moyala Park. In third place, two further shots back was Alan Thomas of Tramore. Local hero Greg O'Mahony finished in the top ten after a final round of 77 for a total of 227.

Don't think Sean Barry will be welcome in Lee Valley ever again to be honest.

Is there a draw based on handicaps or is it just like a normal timesheet?

There is an Intermediate Scratch Cup on the 22nd of April in Blainroe Golf Club. Visitors €20. Will probably play although the timesheet is nearly full before lunch.

No, did I imply there was?

Maybe, maybe not. I thought it was a question worth asking.

Thanks, going to give this a go also, got a slot on the busy timesheet. Never played the course before so looking forward to it.

Very good- it's a nice course with some great holes. Played out there on Friday again and unfortunately, the greens are still in a bad condition after pole forking a few months ago. But once you know about that beforehand, you should still definitely enjoy the round.

How on earth did you think the course was in a poor condition. The greens were superb condition in fairness, nice quality of sand in the bunkers and there was nice run on the fairway. The tee boxes couldn't be faulted either. The rough had been cut well back to be generous to players.

Only thing I could fault was the slowness of play yesterday, no starter and the ranger(s) weren't much use out there at all.
