Take off the TB and clean the ACV.

Were they even doing them that late? I thought everything was fuel injected from 92 or so? Or were some still passign emissions regs with carbs?

so who can answer this question.....Whats the TB and ACV and where abouts are they? Oh and the MIL lamp came on, tried to find the DLC1 two pin plug to short and get the error codes but couldnt find it, only 16 pin plug on this model i think. (even autodata couldnt help!!) and ive managed to reset the fault light now so have to wait for that to come back on again before connecting the scanner to it.

Your wasting your time poking around anything unless you know what your looking for TBH. The fault will be logged anyway so you may not have to wait for the light to come back on to read the fault. It will point you/your mechanic straight to the problem.

The throttle body. The idle Air Control Valve. Under the airbox. The acv get coked up, take it off the tb and clean it. disconnect your battery and reconnect it to put out your light
