Fúck sake. Missed the opening goal when going to wash me plate, now missed Bale's after popping off to the jacks for a leak. Whatever about Spurs being unlucky, I feel very hard done by

Kill two birds with once stone and piss on your plate.

Not when a goal was scored. You'd have to disallow the goal and give a penalty.

No you wouldn't. Players are constantly pulled up after incidents to be booked, it's still a foul, it's still preventing Adebayor's goal scoring opportunity.

Explained why it wasnt a red there. Cant pull it back for a retrospective red unless its violent conduct.

As an aside is the ITV SD sat picture ropey? BBC2 Grand Prix coverage looks much crisper.

Ahhh but ITV HD is still good :)

It's just a pity Chelsea chose to score their fake goal today and not next Wednesday.

I'd love to see the Barca players reaction to something like that.

Fwiw, goal line technology has been approved in principle and is in a trial phase, with FIFA more than likely adopting it next year/late this year.

It doesn't make sense to punish the individuals in this kind of scenario; the team still gets the goal scoring opportunity so it doesn't make sense to punish the opponent with a red card on top of it.

Oh i forgot to mention that I have sky plus making it EVEN WORSE. I know what you're thinking; if you're watching it on sky plus why don't you just rewind tithead???

This is because ITV is in the 'other channels' list and live pause/rewind etc. is not available. 'nice'

I reckon mata celebrating the goal was cheating. He's trying to fool the ref and had he not celebrated the ref mightn't of given the goal. Funny how people have selective disgust about differant kinds of gamesmanship!

    How quick is Bale!

It's not even goal line technology that's needed, it's simply the 4th official or whoever having the authority to look at a tv screen and seconds later say into the ref's earpiece "you having a laugh there, Martin. It's nowhere near the line. Play on"

FIFA say they don't want to take the authority away from the refs. But sure, are referee's assistant not taking the authority away from the refs by flagging for offside themselves?? They are now called referee's assistants. Let them and the 4th official assist the referee.

is that not what goaline technology is? look at the screen say yeah/nay? Or are you thinking like the cricket/tennis where the technology itself determines the outcome?
