Watch out for PAL games that are optimised. Only one I know of is Panzer Dragoon Zwei but you get big chunks of the screen cut when played on a NTSC machine. Sega were quite good about PAL conversions unlike Sony and Nintendo so a few of their games are good PAL conversions.

Panzer Dragoon Saga on a PAL machine is a bit crap though, it's a rush job conversion which even has timing issues on some of the videos. Best play that on NTSC, even the PAL version which is just the NTSC version run through a freeware converter :)

But... wha... you... YOU!
    YOU'RE ME.
    BUT FROM THE FUTURE.

Of all the places to announce I eventually learn to time travel it had to be a retrogames forum. :pac:

And where's those lottery numbers!?! I had a deal.
(That's the royal time travelling "I". Meaning "we".)

Forget that anyway! Future me! Tell me what time and date it is where you are! And did I ever find out what the hell happened to my Theme Park disc?

Thanks, I was thinking that buying a copy of PAL Panzer Dragoon Saga was daft. But oddly enough the NTSC-U region template bothers me enough to need more persuading. It sort of clashes with the rest of the dark box too much IMO.

Considering going with Azel anyway. I've never tried playing an RPG in a language I can't read, and the masochist in me is egging me on to try it.

My Namco stick is a big piece of arcadey loveliness.
Thank you gods of videogaming for giving me the opportunity to spend more money on awesome-sauce controllers....

    Good work Adultappleflavouredbeveragemale!

You got the stick wanted in the end. Plus it's built like a tank, so you ou can fend off rum characters at work with it and still have a few rounds of Homura when you get home. It's win/win really!

Yeah, just had a blast on Raiden III and Shikigami II, that stick is pure class, and never to be sullied by mere beat'em ups either!
I have a nice little mini collection of Namco controllers too,
    NegCon x 2
JogCon - evil finger cramping piece of crap, but a must have just to show even the great companies produce pure, unadulterated muck at times.
    Namco Arcade Stick, lovely jubby!

I must try to get the Namco controller for the Museum collection, you know, the one I dug up for you CapitalCityOfAParanoidNationWhoCan'tBuildAMissleProperlyButItsProbablyJustAsWellGivenTheNutcasesInCharge....

Youshould Deffo get a volume controller, they are so dinky, but very fun to use. Gotta love Namco and their controllers!

What's that one that looks like an RC controller?

It's not an official Namco product is it?
I think it's third party but exploiting the functionality of the Namco products.

If it's not an official NAMCO product then what could it be exactly?

    NAFFCO?

Just grabbed these from the Retro Gamer iPad app.
Anyone know if they released these as actual printed mags or books?

Cheers, it's very pricey on amazon and out of stock on the cheaper link.
I think I'll stick to my digital version on the iPad for the moment(€6.99).

Definetly worth a download if you have an iPad to read them on. Not sure if Retro Gamer have an Android app.

A very beautiful and sexy little transparent Vectrex cart just arrived on my desk in work.
I'm actually really happy with the way it looks, very professional and well put together. Now to sweet talk him into making me a flash cart for a Virtual Boy :)

Will post a pic later on.

Not the best pics but you get the idea.

It has a Micro SD card already installed in it but it looks like its held together with just one screw so getting access wont be an issue.

I was reading one of those Retro Gamer special edition books on the iPad last night and he got a mention in the Vectrex and Virtual Boy sections. I think the author used to work with him.

Ah Primal Rage. Used to love that game when I was going through my teen gore = awesome phase. What an absolutely shocking piece of crap it is in retrospect. The home console versions are even worse, at least the arcade game had some lovely stop motion animations.

Ooh, didn't know it was on the DS!

Is it a remake of the console versions or a new game?
