On the way home with that! Thanks for the link

Well wear with it LM, look forward to seeing it at one of the meets.

    What a car!

it's absolutely mint inside, and i mean that, outside i'd give it 9.5 out of 10.

Has every extra including a built in phone under the armrest (bar a sunroof).

Absolutely chuffed, taxed until 07-12 too!

Didn't check if the timing belt was done on it or not, turns out they're a chain so pheww.

it drives like new, there's not a rattle, bang or fart out of it. Power isn't great in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, but there's plenty of overtaking power in 4th and 5th. Feels the same as a Mondeo to drive to be honest, but it's a hell of a lot of a nicer place to be in.

Only mod i'd consider doing is the facelifted grill (if it's possible), other than that i'm happy.

Four, basically new, tyres too :)

If that still bothers you down the road ( no pun intended) then a remap will fix that. Worth considering later on.

Happy motoring, these are a fine bus.

    Just about the power.......
......Power isn't great in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, but there's plenty of overtaking power in 4th and 5th...........

........ might be an out of spec MAF :)

When I was a rep one of the other lads got a new X type diesel, it wasn't bad to go at all in the lower gears tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,327 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

My uncle got one a few years ago, felt a good bit slower in the low gears than the monðeo 130 I was driving, could be gearing as well though as the monðeo was 6 speed. I'd say a remap would transform it,

are they a new or old diesel engine? aka....how reliable are they? ive gone back to look at your car a few times since yesterday LM, bloody fine looking car!

They're common rail so not immune to the odd injector issue but as in Mondeo guise they are a reliable unit overall :)
