Looking for a good book on Alan Turing -recommendations?

My techie husband is really interested in Alan Turing and I haven't a clue what is a good book on the man and his life's work is to get him as a gift. Would anyone be able to recommend one? I don't mind how technical is it, in fact I think he'd like something quite detailed. Many thanks!

I've only read one "Alan Turing: The Enigma" I found it very interesting. A brilliant man who helped the Brits win the war and is known as the "father of Computer Science" but was gay at a time when it was illegal to be so. He received no recognition from his country until long after his death.

Definitely the Andrew Hodges book and Michael Smith's Station X for some background on Bletchley.

Thanks a mill. We watched a documentary on Channel 4 a while back and I found the whole story really sad and fascinating. Some food for thought there!:)
