MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, Queen's University

    Hi folks,
    my OH is a Hospital Pharmacist and is interested in doing the distance-learning MSc in Clinical Pharmacy at Queen's University, Belfast.

    Has anyone done this course or have thoughts on it?

    We're based in Cork and UCC has a similar MSc but the fees are nearly €1,700 dearer each year (£1,800 = €2,184 at current exchange rates versus €3,850/year). The Queen's MSc has the added advantage that she would get a qualification each year (PG Cert >> PG Dip >> MSc) whereas she would have to complete all three years of the UCC MSc to get any qualification.

    The Cork one's only 2 years, not 3.

    Fair point. However, financially there's still in excess of €1,000 difference overall. Also, all else being equal, the course being spread over three years would probably work out better for us (although some may see it as a disadvantage).

    Is there any significant academic difference between the courses?
