Socket and switches heights

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me the height regulation for sockets and switches. Im in the middle of a selfbuild and doing the wall chasing myself but cant seem to find out the heights. Would appreciate any help..

    sockets between 400mm-1200
    switches between 400mm-1200mm
    distribution board max height top 2.25mts/min height bottom 1.4mts

    1. switches for permanently connected appliances between 400-1200mm
    above floor level

    2.switches for lighting equipment
    in dwellings,between 400-1200mm above floor level
    in public and similar buildings,between 900-1200mm above floor level

    i would keep the top of the switches/sockets below 1200mm

    Your right of course Meercat:). force of habbit we always worked with 900-1200.

    you can look at it in different ways, but as it's a range one good way to consider is to say within it, accessories 100% above the lower limit and 100% below the upper, this would fit meercats advice too.

    What i'm going to do so is have the top of the switches at 1200mm and the bottom of the sockets at 400mm and i should be fine for building regs then.

    One more question could ye recommend the hight for sockets for behind a fridge and behind a built in double oven?

    Dont forget about socket/tv point heights on walls where you may be mounting a TV on the wall.

    Between 400-1200 again
    Put them on a 20amp double pole switch that you can isolate the power if the socket is inaccessible
