Samsung Galaxy SII battery not lasting as long after a year of use

    My battery was fine after nearly a year of use but in the last 2 or 3 weeks its gone very bad. It only lasts 3 to 4 hours and its dead .
    Do i need to get a new battery?

    Are you using your phone to do more recently, I noticed this happening when I started using twitter + whatsapp + viber etc.

    The other thing that can have a dramatix effect is if your signal strength is weaker for some reason.

    I'm abroad at the moment and have data roaming off, even with wifi on the whole time and using the phone normally, I have about 40% extra battery in the evening.

    It is an app, don't know if it's in the Play Store, but you will find it if you do a search at forum.xda-developers.com
