Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Watching that stuff, I was overcome by a feeling of certainty that if his forebears hadn't left Ireland, Bill O'Reilly would be a TD or councillor for Fianna Failure.

The fail is strong in that one.

Bill is a loud-mouth ignoramus. He brings on a guest and tries to shout over everything they say. Typical Fox news*.

    *It's not real news.

He's not listening and just being rude.

O'Reilly is just an overpaid trolling bastard who gets the airtime because he's great television and because he knows that if he digs and digs at people he will get a reaction. He is pathetic

Between Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck you have to wonder if Fox headhunt their broadcasters at the local nut-house.

I reckon he knows exactly what he's talking about, as said, professional Troll. Like an Eamon Dunphy for politics.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

By Bill O'Reillys logic, God made the Nazis. If he made the moon, he made Hitler form the Nazis.

Now, Bill O'Reilly is indeed a bigoted, self-righteous blowhard who refuses to let his interviewee finish a sentance most times. However, in that video David Silverman representing Atheists is similiarily arrogant and dissmissive. Both parties seem to have the attitude of "What I believe is right, and everything contrary to what I believe is wrong." It is possible to say "Well, I don't personally believe in that," rather than saying "No, you're wrong."

You can have strongly held beliefs and think "I don't agree with that, I think that's probably wrong" but why bother telling someone they're wrong, especially if it's regarding something like beliefs. You're almost certainly not going to change anyone's mind without concrete proof. Sometimes people continue to believe things even after they've been shown proof that those things are untrue.

Obviously that wouldn't make for good TV.

Saying "All the Religions are wrong" or "There is no God" is clearly going to upset people who do believe in these things. I suppose Athesits will argue that they're sick of religion being shoved in thier faces so that is what they're doing here but you shouldn't fight wrong with more wrong. That sounds to me like feminists who declare "It's okay for women to subjugate men because men did this to women for years." So, you admit it's wrong and you're pissed off over it but your solution is to reverse the roles and do the same wrong thing to someone else? That's not equality, that's revenge.

The thing that's worse than his stupidity is the fact people like, support and agree with him.
    *shudders*

What I find sad is that, behind this one gullible religious person are millions of gullible religious people. I'm not saying any religious person is gullible, I am religious myself, but to believe in things that we have already proven scientifically is religiously gullible and ignorant. This video just makes me angry that we live in a world where people think like this.

I think this is what the atheist cannot explain! It's not about a man in the sky moving the tides; it's about how it all came to be like this and why . . .

Why should "Atheists" have to explain anything ? All Atheisim is, is a lack of a belief in God(s). It does not assert anything.

By the way. Bill O'Reilly is moron..

I have got into the habit of watching him each morning and I find if you are intelligent enough to see through it he can be quite the entertainer.

He is just a master troll with a plentiful supply of aggressive arrogance. He makes me laugh.
There used to be a Bill O'Reilly sitting in the corner of every pub in Ireland in years gone by.

Bill O'Reilly: Come on.... (patronising expression)

    ^^^Every Bill O'Reilly debate

I do love watching videos of him though. Or rather, I love watching videos of people make mincemeat out of him in debates.

Everyone he is interviewing has the exact same expression on their face. A look of "What is going on here?"

    The "God" debate.

    Lol.

There's a man living in the clouds (until that became clear to not be true), well, a guy that lives somewhere who.....made us.... he wrote a book (well, it was Ghost written) about how he was hanging out in absolute nothingness one day, and then decided to make the world (not universe...they didn't know about the universe when this was written, and in all his wisdom, God forgot to tell them...) and then created 2 humans and stuck them in a field.

BOOM, a few hundred years later the world is populated and he sends his son down, who really doesn't do much, considering he has the infinite power of a "God", and doesn't even cure ALL sickness or suffering, but gets stapled to a cross, and doesn't use his powers to get out of it because ..... it'll get us forgiven for all of our sins....

But, God, who ass raped Egypt for having slaves, decides to do nothing after his son is murdered, and then pretty much does nothing for slavery again, and oversee's multiple genocides and wars spanning centuries and millenia...

It's like a story you tell to a kid when you're clearly talking sh*t and are trying to explain where the dog is after you ran over it backing out of the drive...

Religion is the oldest form of Science, it was used to explain events such as weather, seasons, changes from day and night, the sun the moon and the stars. It's well documented that this was mans first obsession, with ancient Astronomy developing new methods and concepts such as maths and time.

It amazes me how our intellect has evolved so far beyond religion, but that it has maintained so much power (the church getting strongly involved with the state and education all over the world - no surprises there) and has stayed so relevant.

It is a scam, but it's not something to be afraid of. We can't explain everything yet, but the burden of proof isn't on those who provide undeniable evidence for everything that they call fact, such as evolution being the process of where humans came from, not two people in a garden...

It's obsurd to think that there is a concious and aware God looking over us. But then, science fact states that we, and everything around us, are energy, and energy can not be destroyed, so don't lose hope of reincarnation or an after life just yet, but it's not the way the bible or any religion will tell you, the truth is, we don't know, but religion, as we know it, is a scam. And the truth is that perhaps there was a lot of ancient knowledge lost over the dark ages and perhaps we don't know how to interpret everything that is put to us by religion, but there are some surprising cross-overs between religion and science, but again, the burden of proof is on religion, not science, and any form of religion that is shown to you today is absolutely, without question, a corrupted by man institution with an appauling past that would in no way represent a God if it existed, which it doesn't.

    Oh, and Bill O'Reilly, lol.

It asserts that those who believe in God(s) are wrong and but yet it in itself cannot say whether those who believe in God(s) are any further from the truth than those dudes down a hole in Geneva.

An astronaut or cosmonaut melts some ice on mars and a life forms!

Bill O'Reilly seems to be of similar character to Eamonn Dunphy.

Because they get the ratings. If it's not people who agree with his views watching it's people like us who love having a laugh at his awful opinions.
