Using Baxi Gas Boiler to heat water only - no rads

    We have a Baxi 35/80 gas boiler that does a great job at heating the rads & the water, 20 minutes would give you enough hot water for a bath.
    You can set it to heat water only but it doesn't work.
    I remember asking the plumber about it 6 years ago & said we would need to move a Thermo[couple/stat/thingy???] off the heating pipes upstairs & that was too awkward.

    Is there anyway this can be done easily to avoid turning on the rads when it's 20 degrees outside ?.

    Over the emmersion tank there should be a red lever, when pulled down to 3pm position it will allow tank to heat but not rads..... That's what I do once the weather improves, just leave it down

    A few pics of the pipework around the boiler and cylinder might point to a solution to your problem.

    Not every house is piped the same , what you are talking about is sometimes called a summer valve , i would doubt the op has one of these fitted or his/her plumber would of pointed it out , and depending on how the house is piped it may not be possible do fit one.
    As stated already a few pics will speak volumes.

    I wonder if the house has a solenoid valve that was never connected. For my money and the price at the moment i would just get an immersion and a timer fitted but perhaps a plumber might asses for you
