The New Multicultural Ireland - The Benefits?

Speaking as a middle aged unemployed Irish male - I am sick of listening to all these do-gooders talking about all the new communities and cultures that have established themselves in Ireland over the past 10 years. What's in it for me? How do I benefit from the New Multicultural Ireland? I would love if someone could tell me! Discuss!

So you are saying " let the Irish emigrate or stay on the economic scrap heap" while the jobs go to the foreigners. Irish jobs for Irish workers!

A new variation on the 'I'm not racist, but...' theme.

Nothing is in it for you. Absolutely nothing. And it's more that you deserve!

    You're welcome!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

If the Irish workers are competent enough, they'll get the jobs. Tis' only fair like.

The Irish emigrate because they won't do the jobs the immigrants are willing to do.

Have you spoken to any people who aren't of Irish descent for a few generations?

You're not going to feel any benefit if you sit at home not interacting with other people of different cultures.

What benefit do you want? What should be in it for you?

For me, the most obvious benefit is the greater number of perspectives and general variety of people.

Could you please explain to me how we kept the country going before all the immigrants started arriving in the late 90s? How did we ever keep the wheels of industry and commerce moving for all those years? You tell me!

Things were on a much smaller scale then and didn't require such a large workforce, I'd imagine.

Also, the onset of the Celtic Tiger meant that lots of Irish people saw themselves as too good for low-level jobs they would've done previously.

A general variety of people and interacting with different cultures! That will pay the bills all right and keep the wolf from the door!

Why the hell should they pay your bills!?

Though as someone already pointed out, the ones who work are contributing to your social welfare payments, so they kind of are paying them!

The new Irish citizens aren't here to put bread on your table. I don't know who told you otherwise.

There's plenty of welfare tourists and fraudulent asylum seekers milking the system for all it's worth, without ever contributing a cent.

Not including all the media censored violence and crime the illegals cause because they're effectively anonymous/unknown in the Irish system.

Well hopefully you'll be able to find a job and do that. But I don't see what your thread title and your unemployment have to do with each other.

People who come here to work pay taxes and contribute to the economy.

Stories of people getting off the plane and getting free money aren't true as that can't happen.

I think you're angry about your situation and looking to vent, and immigrants, and people whose parents/grandparents were immigrants make easy targets.

    Get a job OP!

    No wait...

They're taking all our jobs OP, you're right to be angry!

    No wait...

    Ah I'm all out... :(

There's plenty of Irish people doing it too. Their nationality doesn't make a difference to the fact they're both a group of scumbags. I've always found it hilarious how some Irish can put themselves on a high horse and complain about immigrants, we're a country known for little more than drink, emigration and the colour green.

OP no offense but cut the excuses, if you were as competent as the immigrant "occupying Irish jobs" you'd have gotten the job. Simple.

OP, we might get a better discussion going if you tell us what kind of benefits you'd like to see from a multicultural society, and whether you think we're seeing those benefits or not in Ireland.

True, true. But don't forget half asian, half white or the rarer half black, half asian.

A middle aged unemployed Irish male has the proverbial ' snowballs chance in hell ' of finding employment in the New Multicultural Ireland and that's reality!
