Had a Westvletern XII the other night, sipping a Rochefort 10 now.
Have to say I prefer the Rochefort..... alot less Belgian yeast character and some great sweet malty flavours balanced out by a tiny bit of bitterness and the alcohol heat. Not to mention its alot cheaper.........

I might buy 5 more Rocheforts and have a face off every year! (for the next 5 years:D)

I tried Brewdog Tokyo the other night, and loved it. It has a flavour similar (but much superior) to Tactical Nuclear Penguin, while still having a kick that'll knock you flat if you're not careful.

    Lovely drink, well worth trying.

Had a Brooklyn Local 1 the other night. Less than impressed - smelt strangely similar to tinned tomatoes. Decent taste though.

Having a few Anchor Liberty Ales tonight. Nice beer.

Superquinn in Lucan is good for beer now that there's an O'Briens next door. Between the two, there's plenty of tasty beers.

Two 'old' English ales: Hobson's Old Henry and Theakston's Old Peculier. Really enjoyed both.

I really want to try the Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA

On a side note, Sierra Nevada have some of the best bottle label designs I've ever seen!

I've also been drinking this lately: Odell Brewing Co. IPA

    Also excellent label design.

    Yea, looks interesting.

I was in Drinkstore in Stoneybatter the other day, and he said he's expecting to get some in.

Hopefully going to be trying that on tap in London soon

Tweet today from Fourcorners that may interest people, and which will be dictating my beer drinking next week

A 14% triple dry hopped triple IPA, anybody tried it before ?

Had my first bottle of 8' Sunburnt Irish Red last night, thought it was delicious, nice caramel flavour.

Also had SN Torpedo, nice counterpoint to the mellow Red, hoptastic.

If you haven't already, try the Odell IPA in my post above yours. It's 7% (closely matching the SN Torpedo) but I think it tastes much better. The plain SN Pale Ale is superior though.

Williams Joker IPA. Not the most flavoursome IPA I've had but it's ok.

My usual John Smyth's and a few Rheinbachers from Aldi

I might head to Deveney's in Dundrum tomorrow and pick up some Bolgar Bier, I love the stuff.

Peroni Gran Riserva - like a stronger normal Peroni more bitter. Didn't like it at all. Then again I don't like Peroni so not a good base to start from.

Spent the week drinking Hopleaf pale ale and Cisk lager in Malta.
The Hopleaf was lovely and the Cisk was surprisingly crisp and refreshing.
Typically €2.60 for a pint. You can't go wrong!

Last night, I finally had some Black Rock on the hand pump. Just right.

Mid week, a few bottles of Bateman's Victory was had. A little bit too sweet for what I expected, as if there was a bit of after sugar added to bulk it up but better than many other pales out there.

Bad King John - Ridgewell Brewery: a black English ale was printed on the bottle and the fancy SaxonTapestry style print caught the eye.

Pours a light black colour and smell immediately the roasts malts. Tastes of coffee and smokey malty with a sweet caramel hit.
Leaves a nice dry aftertaste also.

It's my type of beer so liked it alot.

Fullers Past Masters Double Stout. Nice enough but not quite what I expected for a stout. Dark chewy stewed fruits like you'd expect from a dark ale rather than a stout.

Been on the Galway Bay Brewerie's 'Stormy Port' porter for the last few weeks when i've gone for a few brews, absolutely lovely and only €3.90 a pint in The Salthouse in Galway. The brewers are also doing a loyalty card thing with The Salthouse's parent company and its a free one every ten, or less when you know the lads :).

More Ginger Beard beer today after working on the allotment in the sun earlier. This is definitely my summer drink for 2012.

They're fun to order when you are in the pub with a feminist type.

    Not without some gentle persuasion.

    Etc.
