to liven up the who job seekers field I think it would be good for companies , and agencys to make warm scones and a dob of butter for punters.

it would work wonders for the rest of the interview and make candidates totally at ease.

some refreshments would be an optional extra...

Sounds like a 9 year old dared to make a prank phone call...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Eh, what?

    Why would you say that?

That sounds like a good job and they were basically doing what recruitment agencies do.

Pff. Ye'd be wanting more like 50/h for that. They're hiring like mad yokes at the moment. That bubbles gonna burst big time.

hmm, I did 3 interviews in England recently, appalled with the feedback (or lack of), no refreshments offered despite driving at least 2 hours, nothing on expenses.

    alltogether just not very friendly.

I did one this morning in brum land, 9am the cross eyed guy wanted to see me (didnt know was he looking at me or the roof...), after an hour he said I was not qualified enough for contract work which is fine but it would be been possible im sure for him to suss that out by my cv without me getting up at 4,30am.

in Scotland, different slice of cake, refreshments, banter, a joke, expenses paid.. and a job offer a few weeks later after some continual feedback via email.

another recruiter said JLR are awful to work with since he was there.

crap company to work with, they can shove it., they also never give feedback, unless you are the candidate who speaks out the magic words in an interview the hiring guy wants to hear.

my phone is going off all the time, seems I only went for interviews for the $hit companies, now pretty disheartened about going for any more interviews there.

So you're not taking the job because they didn't offer you any tea and crumpets?

Automotive just pays terrible wages. They think the prestige is enough

That said JLR are supposed to e quite nice to work at. Though as a contractor you can't expect the red carpet :/

OP, if your interview skills are as bad as your ability to start a coherent thread, then i might know the problem.

my interview skills are fine, not my fault if companies are plain ignorant.

Jaysus I work 50-60 hour weeks for the equivalent of £11 an hour. Shift work, nights, earlies, 10 hour days, can't take my own holidays, unpaid breaks, huge responsibility and pressure and only get paid for 40 of those hours.

I would kill for that wage.

Hitmen earn a lot more than the wage the OP mentioned, but I suppose there's a lot of competition out there these days.

I'd work for £27.78 an hour even if I didn't get tea and crumpets.

    sorry to hear that man

Im not bothered as I have a job offer elsewhere, just pretty shocked by the way I have been treated, maybe its just the norm now... busy busy England, many people to interview, cut backs ...(inc water)

I've never been offered refreshments in an interview, what did you get? They should really give you a beer, would relax everyone and you'd probably be more honest too.
