Trade Fair dublin

    Heard on Mary wilson this evening there was a trade fair in Dublin today. It was said the numbers attending were quite low. is it people are no longer in need of employment and it is not as bad as it was or have people already emigrated?

    It was a jobs' fair in the Burlington for those seeking work in sales/ call centre work within Ireland.

    It sounds like it was terribly poorly advertised in fairness. I did a quick google search and didn't find a huge amount of material, apart from an article in the Business section of the Irish Times and another article on siliconrepublic.com.

    Also, holding the fair on a Tuesday might have excluded the under-employed or those who are already in employment, or those who have family commitments like school going children. And there is also the fairly justified belief that call centre employment is rather unstable.

    Your right it was very poorly advertised (if at all).
    The attendance was sparce but then there actually were not that many jobs on offer by the companies there (there were about 20 in attendance).

    To be honest, I've been to more than one jobs fair. It's my opinion that they are more about advertising for a company than recruiting new staff.
