Been a very long time since I saw one of these on the road.

My (now) father-in-law used to pick me and missis up in a cream one when we were teenagers!

My wife's father used to have one too. Had to sell it though as his wife was in a wheelchair and the doctor said he'd end up in a wheelchair himself from lifting his wife in and out of it. Still talks about it to this day!

On Sunday I attended the TR Register Trophy presentation

Members of the TR Register Ireland, supported by friends from the Triumph Classic Owners’ Club Ireland, gathered at Ashtons Bistro in Dublin on Sunday 25th March to receive the TR Register’s coveted Wheelspinner Trophy. The award is presented annually to the group within the TR Register rated ‘club of the year.’
Officials at the TR Register HQ in Didcot, Oxfordshire, voted members of the Irish TR Register 2011 winners of the trophy for their exceptional levels of activity during the year. This included two weeks in the summer when the club hosted a visit, back to its homeland, of TS2 – the oldest right-hand-drive TR2 and the second pre-production prototype built. TS2 was unveiled to an expectant motoring world at the Dublin Motor Show in 1953 after a prototype, codenamed Bobcat, had been shown at the London Motor Show in 1952. Much of TS2’s early life was spent in Ireland in the hands of its first owner, Dr Brendan O’Hara. It’s sister-car, the left-hand-drive TS1, also finished in opal white with geranium trim, was unveiled at the 1953 Montreal Motor Show and is now preserved in the USA.
The trophy was brought to Dublin and presented to Pat Macmahon, secretary of the Irish TR Register, by Keith Read, the Coventry-based motoring journalist who bought TR2, saving her from potential destruction, in 1976. After beginning her restoration, Keith was forced by personal circumstances to mothball the car. But, in the late 1990s, he was persuaded by his wife Chrissy to donate TS2 to the TR Register on the understanding that the car would be fully restored, which it was.
Keith, now one of the five Trustees of TS2, has twice brought the car over to Ireland. In 2003, her Golden Jubilee, she was the centrepiece of the club’s stand at the Jaguar Owners’ Club Terenure College classic car show. Last year he brought the car over for an extended stay during which she again featured at the Terenure show as well as undertaking an extensive round of club social events. During her stay in Ireland, vitally-important and previously-unknown elements of her past history and ownership came to light, much to the delight of her Trustees and members of the TR Register.
Presenting the trophy to Pat Macmahon, Keith paid tribute to the enthusiasm Irish TR Register members had for TS2 and the considerable good will and publicity they generated for the club while the car was in Ireland. “You richly deserve to be winners of the Wheelspinner Trophy. Although it is the first time it has been presented to the Irish TR Register, I am certain it won’t be the last...!”

The link below is a video of the day which I put together, the start of it is Keith Read saying a few words on TS2, The first TR registered in Ireland and the 2nd TR ever built, 4 minutes and slide show of the Triumphs present on the day.

Saw a 2CV this morning in Skibbereen,
not too unusual, what was surprising was the L plate on it,
looked like the driver was getting lessons from his mother,
(this i deduced from A: the frightened look on the lady, and B: the nervous look on his face)

whereas I love the pictures, the thread is "I TODAY I saw a...." and they should be elsewhere if they were taken "once upon a time" .

No offence, but the thread is for the current scene rather than just random car pictures.

That is a very valid point! Do we have a "I saw a classic car when I was time travelling?"

I'll delete them in 2 mins, just give you enough time to enjoy the classic Ford lines!

They're good photos - why don't you start your own thread with them?

I would certainly be interested to see them. :)
