I know the English media/public would.

That's not really a great reason.

I agree with him. Suarez is a key player in a very good international team.
Walcott is an average player in an average team.
Would England like to have Luis in Euro 2012?
    You betcha!
Walcott for Uruguay? - not today Jose!
    That means f**k all.
The parts in bold are quite evident.

I know that but I guarantee it would pop up :D

If Theo Walcott won a World Cup or a Euro Championship with England after playing an intergral part, people would use that in this argument to separate both players. Tell me they wouldn't and i'll leave this thread right now.

I know the English media/public would.

No that would be retarded. I guess im 'the English public' and it would be outright stupid using that as a justification.

One last time, using international football is stupid

Torres won a world cup.Djimi Traore won a champions league ffs.
Compare the bloody players on their own abilities.

Where did I say you were English public/media? You mean you think it's stupid? Everyone knows the gulf in class betweenthem in club football, I used international football to further implement the gulf in class and you think thats stupid. See you in June for the Euros

Well let me put it like this.
Luis has been a hero to the faithful at LFC and in South America.
Theo has been a target for abuse from Gooners at different points.
Luis few notches above Theo in any food ladder you care to mention.

    Luis swastickaez is over rated

suarez is a good player, but he did cost alot of money and for that amount, his goal scoring record is poor. he is classed as an excellent player, which he has a long way to go to achieve.

walcott is a player who is very very hit and miss. he obviously has talent, but he doesnt have the consistency to be playing for arsenal.

both have alot of flaws and are far from the finished article.

Let me put it this way, read the last 2 pages and you will see its Suarez that I think is the better player.
I'm not disputing that,it's this ridiculous argument of comparing what their respective countries have done recently that I have the issue with.

It's comparing what both have done for their countries at major tournaments not the other way around. We all agree Suarez is the better player so why jump on my back when I prove it further with international football

Rooney was hopeless at the world cup,Messi and Ronaldo were not much better.
    It's irrelevant,pointless argument.
It's a lot easier to do well when your team is doing well.

So what you're saying is forget Suárez' international achievements when comparing his ability to that of another player?

Copa America MVP = Messi Neymar
    Suarez
Suarez also helped Uruguay get to the WC Semi Finals scoring 3 goals
Walcott wasn't picked for the tournament

If Maradona had never won a World Cup the Maradona/Messi argument wouldnt even be much of a debate. It's that World Cup win that has him up there as one of the greatest.

Point being, while its not the be all of football, international achivements count for a lot and dont let the bitter English media let you think any different. Might not mean much in England because they're ****e but it does around the rest of the world make no mistake.

Suppose Messi is shìt now because he's done f**k all with Argentina.
I'm out of this retarded argument.Bye.

Messi has 34 goals for Argentina

I disagree that Suarez would walk into any other PL team. As a striker he has a terrible conversion rate.

Yea but he hasn't got MVP at the Copa America or 3rd place at a world cup

No he's one of the best talents football has ever seen and he still has 10-15 years to win something with Argentina. Should he win a world cup or two, he'll be considered as the greatest. Should he not, he'll still be one of the greatest talents we have ever seen.

    bye now

    :D

No. Winning a World Cup is the pinnacle of football and no matter how great we all think he is, if he doesnt win a world cup he'll always be the one who didnt win a World Cup.

If you asked Messi what he wants to win now after he's won everything else, what do you think he'll say?

If he continues the way he's going he will be considered the greatest regardless.
Only an idiot will think otherwise.
For me he's already the best there has ever been.

If you can't seperate an individual talent from a team well then you shouldn't even have an opinion on the matter.

It's only your opinion if you think he'll be the greatest regardless. For a lot of other people he's only a world cup win away from being the greatest. Whether you like it or not, thats the way it is with some people. Im sure it would kill him if he never won it regardless of all the other trophies he's won. Like I said its the pinnacle of world football whether you like it or not

Different types of players but Walcott is very much reliant on his pace for anything he tries to do. I dont think he's learned as much as Wenger would have liked in his time at Arsenal. I'd go as far as to say that he hasnt learned much at all. He's just physically and mentally more mature because he's older but still has very limited intelligence about the game. His game is about attrition and when he loses his pace, he wont adapt a la Giggs, imo. Chamberlain is a much smarter player and as he matures, he'll be the player Wenger hoped Walcott would be. Harsh but true.

Suarez is a player with everything in his locker except clinical finishing. He can do all the hard work, draw 2-3 players out of position, link up midfield to attack etc, at will but he needs a player on hand that will exploit this work. Carroll is not that type of player, Bellamy likes to run at defences too. If Liverpool got Huntelaar, it would be very interesting to see.

I reckon Huntelaar would be available for around €12-14m. Think they'd do damage back together again

The greatest player ever is only opinion.
Where is it written in stone that any one player is the greatest to have played the game??????
I'm definitely finished with this thread now,it's just getting worse.
