Where is the stage in The Townhouse? Only been in a couple of times but it looks very small for a band.

It's usually that little stone alcove on the left in the middle (I think the odd time it might be upstairs, *for a special occasion) Full bands are very squashed in there, and the sound bounce is mad, dunno how they can hear themselves. Its a bit better for solo performers I'd say.

*did see something upstairs once but it was a special event

The sound isnt too bad in there, as long as the band playing bring a monitor!
tonight there are a few young lads from Galway (Zero Era) battling it out against an Ennis band (Budapest)..

should be a bit of craic! ;)

Should be good. Yeah the it's the natural acoustics of that tiny box, and the really thick stone walls, louder bands have a hard time even with a monitor.

Ah don't tell me Muddy's is gone?. :( I was starting to enjoy going in, even when we drank the place out of beer!

    'Fraid so :-(
Talk of a Muddys #2 opening elsewhere in town but if so it must be a private deal as there are no pubs on market at moment.

Variety show in aid of Galway Theatre Festival in Monroes that night. Five or six bands, various types of theatre etc. You should find something to suit there.
