Hi all, is it true that holders of non-EU passport holders must now check-in online and then bring the boarding pass to the Ryanair desk at the airport to be stamped? Does Ryanair charge for this? Does anybody have any recent experience of a similar situation? Thanks!

Hey, yes everyone has to check in online or else you will be charged a fee at the airport. Once you have printed out your boarding pass you take it to the desk at the airport which will have signs for "visa check & bag drop off". You just have to present your passport and boarding pass, they then stamp your boarding pass and you are free to go. No cost at all. But should you not do the visa check, you wont be allowed through customs and you will have to go back and get it done. If the gates are closed you will miss your flight. You have to do this for every ryanair flight you board if you have a non eu passport. Hope this helps.

I think it's been like this for a couple of years now.

    Here's the link.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL NON EU/EEA PASSENGERS

Irrespective of a passenger\'s visa requirements, all non EU/EEA citizens must have their travel documents checked and online boarding pass stamped at the Ryanair Visa/Document Check Desk before going through airport security.

All non EU/EEA passengers must do this in order to ensure compliance with immigration authorities.

RYANAIR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION WITHOUT REFUND AND TO DENY YOU BOARDING IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE REQUIREMENT

I doubt there's a charge and I doubt if it creates any extra hassle besides arriving at the airport that little bit earlier.

Thanks for the replies. I had seen that link and expected it to be as you both describe but just wanted to double check -- you never know with Ryanair!

    Is this still the case?
How clued in are they at the visa desk? I am travelling to UK from Dub with Oz passport, will they let me travel or will they refuse me on the grounds that I don't have a UK visa?
    Thanks

Unless you have the visa they will almost certainly refuse you travel. Probably a bad idea going to the UK without the required visa. If you get caught you will end up in a detention centre until you are deported. If this happens your future in the Common Travel Area will be in serious doubt
Apologies, I was mistaken in thinking Australians required a visa for the UK. It appears that they do not. You will have no problems OP.

Stoppedclock - you can travel to the UK on your OZ passport from Dublin without a visa for the UK. I travel there all the time but always have an outbound ticket. They wont refuse you travel in Dublin.
