It is, but I don't think you would drive very far in it!

The Escort change though excellent is kind of cheating, no proper bonnet, no fuel lines connected etc.

In France in the 90's there was a competition on TV to change a 2CV engine, which necessitated wings etc being taken off, and fuel lines being properly connected and reconnected. It became a bit of a fad, the Guinness Book of Records printed the record which was somewhere between 2 and 3 mins IIRC.

There is incidentally a record for taking a 2CV apart into its 1000 base pieces and putting it back together, it stands at 1hr 55 mins at the moment.

Okay so the Escort one is most impressive ..........so how did they cheat ?

Clearly they just sat it on its mounts and crossmember, no bolts tightened, no cooling system fitted, but surprisingly little cranking of the new engine, so carb already primed ??

    What about the driveshafts ?

    What about the driveshafts ?

I'd say the driveshafts were already loose and the fella underneath caught them when the 'box was removed and guided them back in when the 'box was being dropped back in.

I'm more interested to know what they did to the exhaust manifold to seal/reattach so quickly?

Maybe they had a second engine fitted in the rear.

I'd really like to present that Escort at an NCT centre after that engine swap:)
