There are connoisseurs of deep fried food now?

We are mainly Irish so we like unhealthy food and things in unhealthy amounts, its in our identity.

Burdocks is pretty amazing in Dublin.

Around the corner from me is Dino's which have amazing chips, though I'm not sure what the fish is like.

burdocks is rotten imo, fuscardi on capel street is lovely but the real winner for me is the knigfisher on parnell street, the cod they sell is amazing

I know it's not Fish and Chips (although I'm sure you could get chips with it) but Eco Restaurant in Douglas, Cork do delicious strips of Lemon Sole in a tempura batter on a bed of fresh salad leaves.

    Nom fkn nom.

I'm bringing my Ma there for Ma's day.

    Really? How so?

bland soggy chips and under cooked cod (the batter was watery underneath). happened a few times when i had ordered from the branch in rathmines

Frankly I'm not a fan of fish as a fast food.

Alliterations aside; it's cheaper to make your own, and tastes better too.

Really? Didn't even realise there was a Burdock's in Rathmines. You sure you're not thinking of Beshoff's? The Burdock's in Christchurch have always served me up really good fish 'n' chips.

    Sure is.

Even when I lived in Rathmines I still preferred the Christchurch one.

Consider the chipper in Kilmore Quay highly recommended. Their tartare sauce is homemade and delish.....

Yep, only occasionally and not fish and chips. Taco chip and onion rings were grand, but usually consumed after a few jars so judgement may not be optimal...

Beschoff's Bros in Howth and that place by the canal.

They're the nicest ones I know and I go to regularly. Pricey alrite but god they're nice and fresh!!! Also I like their fish and chips cuz its just cod in plain batter cooked in vegetable oil. They don't use any fancy batters or beer or lard etc.

Although I don't like their chips that much. Its not that they're bad, I'm just not a fan of them thick pub style chips. I like the crispy mcdonalds type ones more.

Most people in Dublin will say Burdocks at Christchurch because that's what they've heard - Burdocks is actually pretty awful.

Mostly the best chippers are your local, or if your in Dublin city center (northside) then The Kingfisher on Parnell St is the dogs bollox.
