It was half 6 today when I looked at the clock and it was still bright outside. But now the time will go forward on March 25.

I feel like i'm being cheated, I want to see the time go forward to half 7, half 8 etc naturally. I feel like i'm being robbed when the clock jumps forward an hour.

    Anyone get this?

Put your clock back an hour today. Problem solved.

The US went forward last week, but Europe goes forward next week.

Amazing how they can plan and organise for the entire world to change their time, but they can't manage to have everyone do it the same day/night/weekend.

I really enjoyed leaving my house at 6.20 today and it being bright outside! I want to keep it that way!!!!

I get up as late as possible, so I'm all for more daylight in the evenings. Nothing as depressing as leaving work at 5.30 and it's like a sea of endless night outside.

Bring on the clock change, yahoooooooo!

Great news for anyone working a nightshift that night.

I love when the clock changes - sure it 'tis like time travel.

In the Winter, when they go back, I dress up like Doc Brown especially.

Ooh I'm working night shift that night! They'll make us stay the extra hour though (and we'll get nothing for it). I know it.

Apparently they tried this for 2 years in the 70s and it meant road deaths skyrocketed because it was dark when everyone was commuting.

you lose an hour this time, so you lose an hours pay.

I like Summer time, I don't get up early enough to care about morning sunshine. A sunrise move from 6:30 to 7:30 next week will not affect me. A sunset moving from 6:30 to 7:30 (pm) will.

That was a tabloid lie. Deaths tumbled in the evening but increased in the morning, the tabloids reported the latter.

Exactly. We'll have to wait 4-5 weeks at least for it to be bright at 6.20 again.

Now that I think of it..yes? It's 7pm to 7am so come 12am it'll be 1am, I bet they'll figure out a way of screwing us over though. They're like that.

I never knew that until 3 years ago when I was in Chicago and the clocks went forward. Bastards stole an hour off my holiday!

The clock goes forward so you will work an hour less!

The number of road accidents increases at the time of the change of clocks because of the disruption to the circadian rhythm. It is a bad weekend to be on the roads. It take most people a few weeks to adjust.

Surely anyone on nightshift will do their regular 10 or 12 hours or whatever?

i.e. go to work as normal at 8pm or whatever just work 10 actual hours from then on instead of getting off an hour early.

Not if they are on a nightshift that is part of a 24 hour cycle in the company because there would be too many staff on once the next shift arrives. And when the clocks go back there would be an hour of nobody on. In most nightshift scenarios the staff will work an hour less next week, and will work an hour more in October. If they are paid by the hour they will get less pay next week and more in October. If they are paid a set rate they will be paid for an hour they don't work next weekend but will work an hour in October that they don't get paid for.

Stop worrying about that 1 hour you might work extra.

2012 is a leap year, you already worked a full day without extra pay.

unless he is paid by the hour, in which case he didn't.
