It must be ten years ago that I heard a joke in Belfast: "Have you heard that Paisley and his pals have bought up every Viagra pill in the Six Counties?"

I replied "No, why?" and the answer was "To keep all those pricks standing out there in Drumcree."

Well, they have been there for 5,000 days now and still no sign of them copping on. Wouldn't you think they'd have something better to do?

    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2012/0312/1224313154631.html

"The Orange Order yesterday marked 5,000 days of protest over the continuing Drumcree dispute in Co Armagh. As happens every Sunday, a group of Orangemen met at Drumcree Parish Church to march as far as a police line, where they handed over a letter of protest.
The weekly protest is in response to the ongoing decision of the Parades Commission that the Orange Order may not return along the nationalist Garvaghy Road in Portadown on their annual summer parade.
Speaking at yesterday’s event, which attracted a larger crowd than usual, Portadown District Master Darryl Hewitt blamed the commission and the Garvaghy Road Residents’ Coalition for the impasse, and said the order was willing to negotiate."

Typically, they don't say who they'll negotiate with. They have refused from day one to negotiate with the people who matter - the Garvaghy Road residents.:rolleyes:

They should be allowed to march in their own country:rolleyes:

So its been 5000 days since I was stuck in Belfast for a week waiting for a flight back to Heathrow while muppets like these Orangemen and Garvaghy residents brought the whole province to a standstill.

    Time flies.

Good to see that thing have moved on up there (for most people).

Did the bigots take responsibility for any of the violence?

It may well be 'their own country' but they are Her Majesty's roads. If she, or her government, or an agency appointed by her government decide they should not then they must abide by Her Majesty's laws.

You don't live in NI do you? The bastards block the roads for hours at a time. people had to wait 60 mins to get out of Tesco car park here in Antrim. The ****ers should be shot.*

    *disclaimer - probably not true.

They should have all gone on hunger-strike.

I have no problem with them marching where they are welcome. Nobody should be forced to stay in their homes while an ensemble of bigots marches past their house though.

I wouldn't let some Garvaghy Road waster tell me what road I could walk down, why should they?

What they should have done at the beginning is dress us as clowns and march with a Jamaican steel band right behind the Orange march. Would have been a sight never to be repeated.

These are the same bigoted types idiot politicians in the south have been shamefully trying to appease.

Appeasement of these dinosaurs must be such an insult to people like those who live on the Garvaghy road who've had to endure their yearly bigot fest for most of their lives

So true and in the spirit of appeasing everyone, those who live there should be allowed to drive up their street at the same time.

Who cares? Leave them at it! As long as the cops get paid I'd say they couldn't give a f*ck either. So they march up, hand them a letter and clear off? What a bunch of morons!!

You'll need to expand on that if you want anyone to bite.

    Eh?

Fair play to them for expressing themselves in a long struggle. They are fully entitled to do so. As are all patriots.

Does that include shooting at the police and army of the state that they proclaim their loyalty to?

If they live there they bloody well can, bigot boy. Keep your religion in your church - where it belongs. And let us civilised people go about about our business.

    NO TALKING = NO WALKING!

I have sympathy for the poor bastards, they should be allowed to march, its part of their tradition. Well at least they have Rangers to look forward too.... oh wait!!!

Having been stopped by the PSNI at the foot of Drumcree Hill from making their return parade back to Carleton Street Orange Hall in the centre of Portadown, they said Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness were “too busy seeking the limelight by attending GAA events and football matches rather than keeping their eye on the ball on real issues”.

So Peter Robinson attends a GAA match and Martin McGuinness goes to Windsor Park. I think it is fair comment to say that they were too busy building bridges and attempting to appeal to the 95% of people in NI who want peace and not the 5% of bigots who want to go back to the dark days.
