I was on the luas earlier, going in the Tallaght direction. I noticed at the junction of Queen Street (Junction at Dice bar) that the luas stopped. But that the luas heading into town moved. Why cant they move at the same time at this junction? Is it too small for them both to fit?

I would think it is because of the sequence of the traffic lights having a filter light allowing traffic coming down Queen street to turn left so that the Tallaght bound tram can proceed while the City trams have to wait on traffic coming from Queen street.

Tallaght bound tram can proceed while the City trams have to wait on traffic coming from Queen street.

But it was the opposite; the city bound tram proceeded. the tallaght bound tram did not.
