    Hey all
I'm in the process of relocating to Dublin and want to keep my golf going.
Without getting too deep into pricing as I'm well aware of current rates, which club would you recommend to join, my top picks at rhe moment are the links at portmarnock or howth, criteria most important to me would be:
    good year round conditions,
    plenty of well supported competitions,
quite days to get out for practice rounds or with visiting friends.
And of course taking into consideration not knowing any current members of either how easy is it to get a place on time sheets or playing group for comps.
Which course do you think would improve you game more???

Portmarnock. Better course easy to get out and friendly.

The Links without a doubt. There are way better other options than Howth in north Dublin though .

i really like Howth but it would be a tough slog week in/week out. a nice place to visit for sure.

Portmarnock Links meets all of the OP's criteria and would be a classy place to join... but would there be issues re NAMA that need to be factored into the equation?

Howth isn't for everyone. Some tight holes and dangerous areas IMO. I wouldn't be in any major hurry to play there again - obviously the views are the best I'm Dublin though.

    Portmarnock is a great track.
