I think the carrot infinitely more fascinating than the geranium.

Be carefull . A creature called the Bertius Ahernia is frequently seen on the grounds of the botanic gardens.
It is free to enter. I go there with a picnic in summer . Nice cafe too. Could open later in summer when it shuts at 6 when its not dark till 10.

Pop into the Glasnevin Cemetrey next door and contemplate your own mortality.

Glasnevin Cemetrey is the dead centre of Dublin.

OP The Botanic Garden's are free (apart from parking in their carpark) and well worth a visit.

Their cafe also opens at 9am on a Sunday morning for breakfast, which is handy to know.

No picnics allowed, 2 euro to exit car park.

One of the best free venues in Dublin to pass a few hours in relative peace.

Is there free admission into those caves in Clare? I can't remember the name but I think they have a bear as a mascot.

It's a genuinely shit place. I suggested just going around the Burren or up to the Cliffs of Moher instead, the caves are... meh.

The Botanic Gardens is a jem in the middle of suburbia. Well worth a visit and served by the number 13 and 83 buses which travel frequently.

13 doesn't go that direction anymore unfortunately.

The #9 and the #4 all go past the intersection of Mobhi Rd and Botanic Rd. The Gardens are a 2 minute walk from the bus stop.

Definitely worth a visit at this time of year when all the Spring flowers are in bloom.

And the 83 just shows up whenever it wants to...faster walking there from the city centre most of the time.
