    HI,
I installed xbmc on my apple tv and all is working fine, very happy with it.
Only problem I have is I can't seem to scrape for covers/artwork/trailers for my movies and tv shows?

I have movies and tv shows on an external hard drive on my imac which I watch on the apple tv via Xbmc.

The folder structure is : /movies/moviename/ moviename.avi/ etc...
I tried putting the .avi file on the root of the movies folder and it is now displaying whats like a box for an image but no image is showing (before this and ones that are still within folders just have an xbmc folder image for them)

    Can anyone help me out.
I have tried IMDB and MovieDB for scraping with no joy..
Hope this all makes sense as I am new to XMBC.
    Cheers.
    Sham.

Have you tried manually scraping the movies? Open the context menu for a movie and select refresh.
Make sure the movie names are exact and add the year if needed eg moviename (2012).avi

Also you can use a media manager to get all info fanart and posters that xbmc will use instead of remote scraper.Media Companion is a good one i have used in the past.

    Cheers for the reply.
    I might try media companion.
I figured if I could get something to scan it on the mac and import the images then I wouldnt have to use the scrape on xbmc.
I tried everthing but can't seem to get it to scrape remotely.
    Thanks again.

    .

    That setup should work fine.

Remove the source and start fresh. For that setup, in the 'options' tab I would untick everything except 'use folder names for lookup' (it is worded slightly differently in Eden I think).

Use tmdb for scraping but in the settings use imdb for score.

The only other thing I would do is add the year of the movie in the folder title (so instead of 'Rambo' it would be 'Rambo 2006' or whatever year it was).

tmbd and imdb often have different years for a movie which is a clusterfcuk. When you download a movie it normally has the year in the filename according to imdb.

I use Filebot for ensuring the files are named correctly and Ember Media Managers for tbn and nfo files.
    Works well.

Had a nightmare with Xbmc over the weekend.
tried scraping for movies , seemed to work as in I could see some fan art on the files on the pc but when I go to view them on the apple TV they are not showing up.
I can see a box where they should be as opposed to the usual Xbmc folder image that is there but no image.
I also tried to import some music but it takes forever to update the DB and then crashes in between playing songs.
I decided to use itunes sharing instead.
Apart from that all is fine :)
