Have to say I'm disappointed at how this forum has turned out, it's become a vanity project for a couple of posters who see themselves as mods. If people aren't allowed create threads then there is no point having a forum. I'd agree that the "rate my team" posts need to be modded into the RMT Thread but everything else should have been left.

I get what you're saying, I do but there was too many threads crossing over one another to the degree that the forum was quite bluntly a cluster**** for a few days tbf. It's the same with any forum new or old, if a mod sees fit, he or she will merge the threads into the original/bigger one usually. I personally think it looks better now overall than it did before, not perfect by any means, but a lot more neater. Some of the threads were pointless too to be fair too.

Also, while we appreciate Fantasy Football is gonna be the most popular Fantasy game played/talked about amongst boardsies. Other sports need to feature a bit more prominently. I myself will be getting back into F1 this season after a good few years away from the sport and will set up an Fantasy F1 thread this week for example that I hope will be updated regularly by myself or whoever. Gotta remember it's a sports forum, not just football (soccer).

As I said previously, the forum will take a bit of time. People have to accept that, I knew it was gonna be like this. Moon did I'm sure We can review things properly during the summer namely in regards to FPL. It's not long left till the summer, 11 GW's if I'm not mistaken.

It all should have been left as it was with one thread in the soccer forum. Simple to follow.

One person pushes for a forum that f**k all wanted and wants to be the mod now from what I see.

Go back to the old thread and leave this mess!!

Have you seen the amount of posts here already? A lot more wanted this than didn't I think. There is still a thread in the soccer forum if it suits you but this place will get busier and busier as time goes by and imo will rival FFS and all the other good places for FF.

A bunch of people have just decided they're going to schitt on this forum, and that's all they're going to do, regardless of what they see.

The activity here has already gone far beyond what the Soccer thread was doing before this forum was made. Not to mention all the new posters we have here who either didn't want to post in Soccer, or didn't have access. And that's after only two GWs, mostly without traffic from Soccer.

But that doesn't matter, because y'know... only one person pushed this forum.

Whether that "one person" was Necronomicon who made the initial request, or Manual_Man who went on to further push it with a new idea when the original request was denied, or the 85 people who "thumbed up" the idea, or the 80-100 who +1'd it (accepting cross-overs here), giving their arguments in favour for it because the single thread was too hard to follow unless you logged in a number of time a day... I'm just not sure.

Whoever it was, that one person sure did go to alot of trouble to create about 150 accounts to get the seperate forum.

might it be worth looking into implimenting a colour coded thread tag system? Like the one they have, say in the Battlefield Forum. That way it would be able to see the diferent sports apart from eachother. Not sure it would work, but it could be an option.

I actually agree with you here. Just stop reverting back to quoting stats because we both know that there wasn't as much support for the forum as you suggest, although there wasn't as little as others suggest.

After a slow start I'm actually using it more than I thought I would, although I am finding it a conscious effort to keep the soccer forum thread going. I don't think people realise that if that thread dies the chances of this forum getting any new traffic are extremely slim.

Just let the forum progress naturally as it is, there was a clean up done that was (imo) a little heavy handed but no harm done. People are over thinking things. If you want to make a thread that you feel warrants its own discussion, do it. If it's deemed not relevant it'll be closed. Once people start seeing what threads are closed and where these topics should be discussed then it will naturally evolve its own rules. We don't have the traffic for minor things like this to be a real issue atm. There's no need to specify what people can and can't make new threads about, imagine trying that out in the Soccer Forum...

Absolutely. Embrace the new forum. I for one thought it was great the new traffic we got over the weekend, loved seeing new posters getting involved. It's early days, sure, but I think the signs are good. The forum will evolve as we go along I have no doubt, Mr Moon and El Loco Ade are doing a fantastic job imo... and all out of their own free time, so I don't think we can thank them enough for that. Onwards, and upwards, as they say

All in good time, that's in the pipeline to be done. :)

And as for people saying we wont get any traffic, I can assure you when next season begins, this place will be hopping!

I'm not arguing with you here since we overall agree, just showing my complete frustration with that line (it's not just you, at least 2 others have said it). The "Not as much support as you suggest..." line. Everything I "suggested" was taken from what's actually in existence. I purposely linked to everything I said, making sure to back up everything I said, showing evidence of the 2 threads that were created by 2 seperate people, then the 80-something "thumbs up" was an actual print-out of the thread, and I genuinely made an effort to count the +1s in the thread, giving as accurate an opinion as humanly possible... while also accepting there'd be cross-overs. Beyond knocking on Boards members doors and taking a survey, my suggestions have been as proven as possible.

Whereas the opposite side of the argument is just saying "Nope, nobody wanted it, only one person, this is awful, let's go back" with nothing backing that up.

Having my efforts being compared to that could drive a person to drink!

Its probably been said before, but why not close the fantasy football thread in the soccer forum completely, and put a locked sticky at the top of the soccer forum saying something like "Fantasy Football Forum Here" and then inside just have a link to this forum or have the sticky link to the forum, if that can be done?

Surely that would stop all the trouble with the other thread having to be kept bumped?

This would be the most obvious solution, but I thought this was previously suggested and turned down?

It is my conviction that it was turned down by a Soccer Mod/or Mods for selfish reasons (being that they posted in the thread themself, and didn't want it outside their Modding area)

I could be wrong of course :)

GTFO that is the most rediculous suggestion yet, some people dont want to post here and prefer to post in the soccer forum

I think it doesn't matter a damn where it is for people who want to post. But to have it in two locations is beyond ridiculous

Its not up to you or your sidekick where people post about ff, the soccer forum is a community in itself and a lot of the traffic that was in that thread have no interest in posting in other forums. Ye were the ones that wanted your own forum so you have it now ye want to dictate what threads are allowed in the forum and now you want another ff thread closed just because some people wont post in your precious forum.

yas seriously need to get over yourselves imo

I rather avoid going into too much detail for the sake of it, as I think it'll come across wrong or better said, in bad spirt no matter how best I phrase it. But too keep it short, I have properly looked into it (and not only with just that sports forum), and it's a no-go.

No I wont get the fúck out, and I wont be told what to do by you , kid.

Get some anger management if thats the way you react to someone making a simple suggestion to a problem that people are discussing a lot.

I never asked for the new forum, I wasn't bothered either way, so dont be spouting rubbish at me either that is a load of bull.

@redzerdrog No need to start slinging insults pal. Unlike yourself I like to think of fantasy football (and other fantasy sports) as a community welcome to old and new and not just a select clique, I made a (pretty big) effort to help get this forum, we've seen great traffic already and I think that will only grow, which is a positive thing. Do you not welcome all members to fantasy football discussion? Is that not what's important? Because that's what it sounds like

It was only a suggestion to other sports forums, relax. I nor Moon demanded all fantasy sports threads be moved here. Again, it was simply a suggestion. If the mods of x forum didn't want it moved, that's their choice and that is fair enough. No need for the rolleyes.

No need for telling people to GTFO just because you disagree with their opinions neither
