There is a patch of damp/mould on my sitting room wall.
It is in the corner, exactly where the kitchen cooker would back onto the wall from the next room.
I assume that's the problem- but is there anything I can do to solve it? There's an air vent in the sitting room, on the outside wall of the house.

I'm pretty clueless about this kind of thing, so if I need to get someone out to look at it, who do I get? A builder/plumber??

    Thanks for any suggestions. :)

Need a bit more info ...
Is this a 2 storey house or bungalow?
    What age is the house?
What kind of cooker is in the kitchen?
Any pipework in the vicinity of the problem area?
A picture of the damp patch and cooker would help.

    It's a 2 storey house, built in the 1930's.
There's a gas pipe (well, one of those that has air in it?) going out through that wall.
    I'll throw a picture up later. :)

But who should I get to check this out anyway? General handyman or what?
Just so I know where to start looking in the Golden Pages!! :o
