He keeps waving it off as "people seem to think it's like SOPA in America, but it's not" as if that means that the one he's put through is completely fine.

The reply I got from one of my local TDs when I asked him where he stood on it was basically: Sherlock has assured me it's all fine. It wouldn't be a good idea to go against European rules. (in fact, almost in those exact words).

The thing that gets me, aside from the legislation itself, is the complete disregard of nearly 100,000 people and their concerns...

    *mutter mutter grumble grumble*

    I need cake and coffee.

Is there an announcement about it anywhere, like what sort of things we can't post anymore?

well on the film forum earlier it was said that we can no longer copy and paste the text from a news article involving movies as its copyright breach, you can only post the link to the site that has the news, but the thread is gone now, they said an announcement sitewide will be made later so I dunno its all a bit up in the air at the mo.

everyone who's on facebook, please, please like this group:

they're trying to organise a protest and hoping to have the law repealed, its fcuking LUDICROUS that a minister could take it on himself to bring in legislation that was met with so much negativity, he's essentially ruined the internet industry in Ireland, given all his waffling about cloud computing, he probably doesnt even know what the fcuk cloud computing is..

I did see a sticky in AH, basically just saying we can't copy and paste items from other websites, just post a link. If someone copies and pastes something, the mods will snip it, but nobody will get refracted because it's new to everyone.

You can't even copy and paste a line or two, with full source acknowledgment? That's ridiculous. I don't mean Boards is being ridiculous, it's just crazy that it has come to this. Technically, then, those "please go away" stock responses that the TDs sent me when I emailed them about this Bill were a breach of the Bill too, because they sure as hell didn't write them.

Sure, I made a low sugar version because my Mam has diabetes so you can subsitute it out if you need.

500g Low Fat Soft Cheese(I used the tesco one instead of philideliphia)
2/3 pack of the reduced sugar Digestives
Strawberry Sugar Free Jelly Crystals(they come two sachets joined together, use one)
    200g low fat butter.

Crush your digestives in a bowl, food processor makes light work of it,
Melt the butter and add to biscuits and mix until evenly covered.

Spread out even layer into your cake tin, I used quite a large one as you can see from picture. Let harden and cool in fridge.

Add jelly to a jug and add 250 ml boiling water and let dissolve, make up to 400ml with cold water, ensuring everything is dissolved.

Add the dissolved jelly and packets of cheese in a bowl and mix with a whisk until there's no lumps of cheese.
But ontop on biscuit base, pop in fridge and let set!!

    Easy Peasy!

Well I'm on the understanding that you can copy up to a paragraph with a link provided or at least that's the way I read it in the nature forum.

It's a bit, well, sad, that I know the answer to this. With copyright to do with recipes, it's the method that is copyright, not the ingredients list. So if you wish to reproduce a recipe, as long as you create your own method, even if all the ingredients are the same, copyright is not infringed.

No cake for that "Minister" Sherlock  [curse] In fact I hope his sponges always flop, his cookies always spread, his icing is always lumpy and nothing ever tastes sweet for him ever again![/curse]

I always wondered about that, like I make biscuts that I now call my own (I don't sell them or anything) I always thought it was the ingredients that were copyright and as I added an ingredient, it was grand.

I have cut a few mins off the time but that's more to do my cooker than changing the method I think. Suppose I'll have to issue disclaimer with my cookies now :(

    Hahahaha! :D

So, so long as I say 'beat' instead of 'whip' or 'stir' instead of 'whisk' I'll be grand!
Although, all my recipes involve 'Pierce film and place on a microwavable plate.' :o

Started a TEFL course, started on the 60hour online part. Have a 'checkpoint'(just answer a bunch of open ended questions) already. 13 modules and 5 checkpoints and that's not including the 20hour grammar training and the 4 Specialist Modules which are 10 hours each.

I think I'll have to order a large supply of coffee.

The 'kitten'(2 this year but still small) is also in heat so is up making the loudest of noises at all hours, it's making my brain slow!
