Public Transport options Cork- Waterford

I need to make a day trip to Waterford once a week or thereabouts. Are there any public transport options other than Bus Eireann? They have a fairly frequent service but the journey takes about 2.5 hours each way as they stop in Dungarvan, Midleton and Youghal I think.

    Any direct services available?

I suppose a taxi is the only alternative but that would be costly.

Unless you know someone going to Waterford the bus is the only option.

Nothing worse than being on a hot stuffy bus on the way to Waterford :(

You can get the train to Limerick Junction.

    Bus unfortunately.
The silver lining is that most of the time the bus is pretty empty so you get a seat to yourself and it isn't too stuffy.
Just watch out for fridays and sundays because the bus is packed with all the students going home
