irish phrases... for valentines day card

    I need something to write my valentines day card in irish... for my girlfriend...

    the girlfriend knows Irish... and i know little...

    any ideas?

    How about some poetry. This is an extract from the famous Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire, which was actually declared by an ENGLISH critic as being one of the best pieces of literature produced in Ireland OR Britain in the 18th century. Here's the first verse.

    Mo ghrá go daingean tu!
    Lá dá bhfaca thú
    ag ceann tí an mhargaidh,
    thug mo shúil aire dhuit,
    thug mo chroí taitnearnh duit,
    d'éalaíos óm charaid leat
    i bhfad ó bhaile leat.

    Rough translation:

    You are my steadfast love,
    The day I saw you,
    at the market gable,
    my eye cared for you,
    my heart gave pleasure to you,
    I went with you away from my friends,
    far away from home,
