Hi, I am in the process of looking at buying an estate and looking for advice.

I think the V50 is a great looking estate(probably the niciest out there) but to get a nice one that is 2007 or more you are talking 8-9K.

Before i want to pay that I was looking to get peoples opinions on that over the likes of of the Astra estate or some other estate car on which is better.

Are parts for the V50 very expensive to buy compared to the Astra etc.

Is it a much bigger car.

    What is relibailty like.

If you can think of other estates to consider please feel free to mention.

I dont want to buy any older than 2007 realy and the top end budget would be 9-10k max but ideally 8k.

    Thanks

V50 is smaller but more premium feeling

    Consider the focus estate too.

    Thanks Colm,

I had looked at the focus but havnt managed to sit in one yet.
From the photos they look much smalled that the astra though.

Are they much smalled or am i imagining it?

    Nah, they're roughly the same.

I have a 2005 V50. It's not a big car at all, though feels nice on the inside. It's handled everything I've needed it to so far, but I don't need all that much space.

Reliability of the V50 is so-so from what I've gathered so far.

Don't get too hung up on the year of the car; you might find other older but better options.
