Asus TF101 Eee Family problem

I bought an Asus E Pad when I was in the States. Worked fine. Was travelling in India after that and used it with a regular travel adapter and it was still okay. Returned to Ireland and it charged for a while with the regular travel adapter but then stopped. A friend of mine had bought the same model in England so I used that plug once and the Asus charged. I ordered an adapter plug which arrived today but to no avail as the Asus is not working. The battery light isn't even flashing to say it's charging. Is it possible (forgive my ignorance but I'm not really au fait with computers) that I fried the computer by using the other plug? If so can anything be done to rectify the situation? Any ideas would be very welcome as all my travel photos are saved on there.

If the power supply was for the same model, it wouldn't cause any damage.

Try this: Disconnect the power supply AND remove the battery, then press the power botton to discharge all capacitors, etc.

Reconnect the power and try again. Sometimes it is just that simple.

If it is really toast, you can remove the hard disk drive, put it into an external enclosure (caddy), connect to another computer and backup your files.

Edit: OK, forget this, it's a Transformer and the battery is not consumer-replaceable. Sorry, my bad.

If it is still under warranty, contact ASUS, that you bought it in the States shouldn't matter.
